ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](CH(3)CO(2))·7H(2)O, the central Cu(II) ion is five coordinate, being bound to four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and one O atom from an acetate anion in a strongly distorted square-pyramidal configuration. Hydrogen-bonded water mol-ecules and an uncoordinated acetate anion form a two-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to (010). The cations are linked to this layer via O-H?O hydrogen bonds between one of the water mol-ecules and the coordinated acetate anion.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(7)O(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](C(8)H(7)O(2))·6H(2)O, the Cu atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment. The six crystallographically independent uncoordinated water mol-ecules are inter-connected by hydrogen bonds, completing dodeca-water (H(2)O)(12) clusters which are hydrogen bonded to the carboxyl-ate groups of phenyl-acetate anions, building up one-dimensional anionic chains propagating along [100]. Between the cationic and anionic chains are hydrogen bonds from water mol-ecules to the carboxyl-ate O atoms belonging to the phenyl-acetato ligands.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)](CF(3)CO(2))·4H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination with four N atoms [Cu-N = 2.015 (3)-2.244 (3) Å] from the two phenanthroline ligands and two O atoms from the acetate [Cu-O = 1.953 (3) and 2.764 (3) Å]. Strong inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions consolidate the crystal packing. The F atoms of the anion are disordered over two positions in a 0.5233 (3):0.4767 (3) ratio.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The crystal packing also exhibits weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.734 (2) Å] and short inter-molecular Cl⋯Cl contacts [3.306 (2) and 3.278 (2) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)Cl(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], features a centrosymmetric binuclear complex. The coordination geometry around the Cu(II) atom is square-pyramidal, comprising two N atoms from a symmetrically chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one O atom from a trichloro-acetate ligand and two Cl(-) anions. In addition, there is a weak intra-molecular Cu?O inter-action of 2.9403?(14)?Å involving the carbonyl O atom of the trichloro-acetate ligand. The central Cu(2)Cl(2) core takes the form of a rhombus, owing to the disparate Cu-Cl bond lengths. Mol-ecules are connected in the crystal structure by C-H?Cl and C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)], the Cu(II) atom is coordinated in a square-planar fashion by the two N atoms of a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and by two water mol-ecules trans to the N atoms. The coordination sphere of the metal atom is augmented by O atoms of two weakly bonded perchlorate anions, thus yielding a strongly distorted CuN(2)O(4) octa-hedral environment. The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and the perchlorate anions.
