ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(C(9)H(7)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O, the Zn atom and the apical aqua ligand are located on a crystallographic twofold axis, with the Zn(II) ion in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry composed of five O atoms, two from the monodentate methyl-terephthalato group and three from water mol-ecules. The resulting complex and the two hydrate water mol-ecules are inter-connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the mononuclear title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center. The asymmetric unit further contains one 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anion, one nicotinamide (NA) ligand and one coordinated and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule; all ligands are monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two pyridine N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 7.2?(1)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 72.80?(4)°. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond links the uncoordinated water mol-ecule to one of the carboxyl-ate groups. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [CdCu(2)(C(12)H(11)N(2)O(5))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atoms are in a square plane of N(2)O(2) atoms contributed by the tetra-dentate Schiff base trianion. The Cu(II) atoms are coordinated by one phenolate O atom, one imine N atom, one amido N atom and one carboxyl-ate O atom. The Cd(II) atom is connected via the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a heterotrinuclear Cu(II)-Cd(II)-Cu(II) system. The Cd(II) atom is seven-coordinate in a penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry with four O atoms from two carboxyl-ate groups and three aqua ligands. The heterotrinuclear mol-ecules are linked to the uncoordinated water mol-ecules by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(C(14)H(13)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)](NO(3))(2), is comprised of two Schiff base 2-meth-oxy-6-(N-phenyl-carboximido-yl)phenol (HL) ligands and three coordinated water mol-ecules. The Mn(II) ion lies on a twofold axis that bis-ects one water O atom. The coordination sphere of the five-coordinate Mn atom is completed by the two monodentate HL ligands and three coordinated water mol-ecules binding through their O atoms, affording a distorted tetra-gonal-pyramidal geometry. In the phenolate ligands, the hy-droxy H atom transfers to the imine N atom. This H atom is also involved in an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond that imposes a nearly planar conformation on each ligand, with dihedral angles of 2.78?(3) and 2.43?(5)° between the aromatic rings of each ligand. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], contains three crystallographically independent mol-ecules with similar configurations. The Zn(II) cation is coordinated by two N atoms of two nicotinamide ligands and three O atoms from two 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anions in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In each independent mol-ecule, one Zn-O bond distance [2.5181 (12), 2.5931 (12) and 2.4085 (12) Å for the three mol-ecules] is significantly longer than the other two. In the crystal structure, extensive N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π contacts between the pyridine rings and between the pyridine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7655 (9) and 3.8453 (10) Å, respectively] further stabilize the crystal structure.
