Triclinic modification of tetra-kis-(triethyl-ammonium) dihydrogeno-deca-vanadate(V).

ABSTRACT: In the title ammonium polyoxometallate salt, (C(6)H(16)N)(4)[H(2)V(10)O(28)], the anion features O atoms engaged in ?(6)-, ?(3)- and ?(2)-bridging of adjacent V(V) atoms, confering an octa-hedral coordination at each of the twenty unique metal atoms. Two anions are linked by ?(3)- and ?(2)-bridged OH units across a center of inversion, forming a dimer which is linked to the cations by N-H?O hydrogen bonds. The cation is disordered over two positions in a 0.776?(4):0.224?(4) ratio in one of the two independent ion pairs in the asymmetric unit, and 0.627?(10):0.373?(10) in the other.

Project description:The title compound, (C(5)H(12)N)(9)[HV(10)O(28)](NO(3))(4), contains a monoprotonated deca-vanadate polyanion which lies on an inversion center. All the piperidinium cations adopt chair conformations. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds form chains along [001]. As well as half of a polyanion, the asymmetric unit contains one full and two half-occupancy nitrate ions and four full occupancy and one half-occupancy piperidinium cations; the half-occupancy piperidinium cation is disordered over two general sites with occupancies of 0.32 and 0.18, and is, in turn, disordered over an inversion center.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(2)H(8)N)(6)[V(10)O(28)]·H(2)O, the [V(10)O(28)](6-) polymetalate anion has crystallographic mirror symmetry with six V atoms and 12 O atoms lying on the mirror plane. Each of the V(V) atoms adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Eight terminal O atoms are bonded to V(V) atoms with double bonds and the others act as bridging atoms. In the crystal structure, a network of N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds helps to establish the packing.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[CoCl(4)], is comprised of a tetrahedral [CoCl(4)](2-) anion and two independent triethyl-ammonium cations. The latter are featureless while the [CoCl(4)](2-) anion exhibits typical Co-Cl bond lengths [2.2428?(15)-2.2847?(16)?Å] and a Cl-Co-Cl angular range of 107.58?(6)-112.73?(7)°. In the crystal, N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between the two crystallographically independent cations and the [CoCl(4)](2-) anion generate discrete ion triplets. The two Co-Cl bonds involved in these inter-actions are slightly longer than the remaining two.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(4)[V(4)O(12)]·4H(2)O, contains half of a [V(4)O(12)](4-) anion, two 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridinium, (2a4mpH)(+), cations and two water mol-ecules. One water mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancies and the H atoms for this mol-ecule were not included in the refinement. The cation lies on an inversion center with four tetra-hedral VO(4) units each sharing two vertices, forming an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the components are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a one-dimensional network along [100]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5420?(18), 3.7577?(18) and 3.6311?(19)?Å are observed.

Project description:The title compound, {[Ba7(C3H5O2)14]·0.946C3H6O2·4H2O} n , is represented by a metal-organic framework structure that is held together by Ba-O-Ba bonds, as well as by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds of moderate strength. The structure comprises of four independent Ba2+ cations (one of which is situated on a twofold rotation axis), seven independent propionate and two independent water mol-ecules. The bond-valence sums of all the cations indicate a slight overbonding. There is also an occupationally, as well as a positionally disordered propionic acid mol-ecule present in the structure. Its occupation is slightly lower than the full occupation while the disordered mol-ecules occupy two positions related by a rotation about a twofold rotation axis. In addition, the methyl group in the symmetry-independent propionic acid mol-ecule is also disordered, and occupies two positions. Each propionic acid mol-ecule coordinates to just one cation from a pair of symmetry-equivalent Ba2+ sites and is simultaneously bonded by an O-H⋯Opropionate hydrogen bond. This means that on a microscopic scale, the coordination number of the corresponding Ba2+ site is either 9 or 10. The methyl as well as hy-droxy hydrogen atoms of the disordered propionic acid mol-ecule were not determined.

Project description:The title compound, Na(C2H10N2)[Co(C2O4)(C2H8N2)2]4[H5(P2W18O62)2]·14H2O, prepared under hydro-thermal conditions, consists of two Dawson-type [P2W18O62](6-) anions, four isolated [Co(en)2(ox)](+) cations (en = ethyl-enedi-amine and ox = oxalate), one Na(+) cation, one [H2en](2+) cation, and a number of ordered (14) and disordered solvent water mol-ecules. The [P2W18O62](6-) polyoxidometalate anion has site symmetry 1 and contains two structurally distinct types of W atoms: viz. six W atoms on vertical pseudo-mirror planes grouped in two sets of three, and 12 equatorial W atoms that do not lie in the pseudo-mirror planes grouped in two sets of six. In each [Co(en)2(ox)](+) cation, the Co(III) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two en ligands and two O atoms from the ox ligands, completing a distorted octa-hedral structure. The sodium cation lies on an inversion centre and additionally links the complex cations and anions. In the crystal, the various units are linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which together with C-H?O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional structure. The contribution of a region of disordered electron density, possibly highly disordered solvent water mol-ecules, to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE option of PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. To equilibrate the charges five H(+) ions have been added to the polyoxidometalate. These H(+) ions and the disordered solvent contribution were not included in the reported mol-ecular weight and density.

Project description:The title compound, {[Na(H(2)O)(4)](6)[V(10)O(28)]·2H(2)O}(n), crystallized from a H(2)O/THF/CH(3)CN solution (pH ca 6) containing equimolar amounts of NaVO(3) and N-(2-hydroxy-benz-yl)-N-(2-picol-yl)glycine. In the crystal structure, the deca-vanadate [V(10)O(28)](6-) anion ( symmetry) is coordinated, via four terminal oxide ligands of V centres, to two dinuclear [{Na(H(2)O)(3)}(2)(?-H(2)O)(2)](2+) units. Inter-connection of these aquasodium-ion-sandwiched deca-vanadates to chains parallel to [001] is effected by ?-[{Na(H(2)O)(3)}(2)(?-H(2)O)(2)](2+) units, bridging adjacent deca-vanadates via O=V. The structure is consolidated by an extensive network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds.
