ABSTRACT: In the zwitterionic zinc title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(14)H(20)N(2)O(2))], the Zn(II) ion is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The Schiff base ligand employs its phenolate O and imine N atoms to coordinate the metal atom in a bidentate mode. Two Cl atoms complete the tetra-hedral coordination environment. In the crystal, a pair of N-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into a centrosymmetric dimer. C-H?O, C-H?Cl and C-H?? inter-actions are also observed.
