Project description:The title compound, a seleno-nium bromide, C(17)H(33)OSeSi(+)·Br(-), was obtained from the reaction of enanti-omerically pure 4,7,7-trimethyl-2-methyl-selanylbicyclo-[2.2.1]heptan-3-ol and (3-bromopropen-yl)trimethyl-silane in acetone. Due to the chiral bicyclic substituent, the crystal structure is not centrosymmetric and has no symmetry plane, with four chiral C atoms in the cation. The asymmetric unit contains one seleno-nium cation and one bromide anion. C-H⋯Br and O-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds link the ions, forming a one-dimensional R-helical chain-like supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(15)BrO(2), contains a sterically unencumbered norbornyl group. The dihedral angle between the plane of the carboxyl-ate group and the mean plane of the adjacent benzene ring is 5.3?(2)°. The dihedral angle between the plane of the carboxyl-ate group and the norbornyl methano C-O bond is 4.5?(1)°, the methano C atom deviating by 0.141?(2)?Å from this plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules pack as pairs of enanti-omers, with a distance of 3.747?(1)?Å between the centroids of nearest parallel benzene rings.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, C(14)H(13)BrO(2), which contains a norbornenyl group and a 4-bromo-benzoate ester at the single C-atom bridge, has been redetermined [see McDonald & Trotter (1965 ▶). Acta Cryst.19, 456-463] to modern standards to establish high-precision geometrical data to compare with norbornyl and other tetra-cyclic 4-bromo-benzoates. Possible structural evidence is sought to help explain solvolytic reactivities.

Project description:The title compound, C12H20N4O, undergoes a phase transition on cooling. The room-temperature structure is tetra-gonal (P43212, Z' = 1), with the meth-oxy-bornyl group being extremely disordered. Below 213 K the structure is ortho-rhom-bic (P212121, Z' = 2), with ordered mol-ecules. The two independent mol-ecules (A and B) have very similar conformations; significant differences only occur for the torsion angles about the Cborn-yl-Ctetra-zole bonds. The independent mol-ecules are approximately related by the pseudo-symmetry relation: xB = -1/4 + yA , yB = 3/4 - xA and zB = 1/4 + zA . In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds between the tetra-zole groups, forming a pseudo-43 helix parallel to the c-axis direction. The crystal studied was a merohedral twin with a refined twin fraction value of 0.231 (2).

Project description:The title compound, C10H12O8, a prospective raw material for colourless polyimides which are applied to electronic and microelectronic devices, lies about an inversion centre and the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation. Two crystallographycally independent carb-oxy-lic acid groups on adjacent C atoms are in equatorial positions, resulting in a mutually trans conformation. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds around an inversion centre and a threefold rotoinversion axis, respectively, form an inversion dimer with an R 2 (2)(8) motif and a trimer with an R 3 (3)(12) motif.

An intramolecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond is present.
