ABSTRACT: The nine-membered fused-ring system of the title pyridazine derivative, C(7)H(7)N(3)OS, is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation 0.012?Å). In the crystal, the amino H atom forms a hydrogen bond to the ketonic O atom of a neighboring mol-ecule to generate a centrosymmetric dimer.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C13H10N2S, the dihedral angle between the planes through the non-H atoms of the methylbenzene and thi-azo-lopyridine groups is 36.61 (5)°. In the crystal, the thi-azo-lopyridine groups of inversion-related mol-ecules overlap, with a minimum ring-centroid separation of 3.6721 (9) Å. Furthermore, the methylbenzene groups from neighbouring mol-ecules inter-act edge-to-face at an angle of 71.66 (5)°. In addition, weak C-H⋯ N hydrogen bonds form chains exending along [100].

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(14)N(2)OS, crystallizes as a racemate in a non-chiral space group. It represents a conformationally restricted analogue of so-called Biginelli compounds known to exhibit multiple pharmacological activities and was selected for a single-crystal X-ray analysis in order to probe the chemical and spatial requirements of some kinds of activity. It was found that the state of hybridization of the formally aminic nitro-gen of the heterocycle is between sp(2) and sp(3) with the lone-pair electrons partially delocalized through conjugation with the sulfur atom rather than the double bond of the pyrimidine nucleus. As a result, the thia-zolo ring adopts a flat-envelope conformation and the puckering of the central pyrimidine ring is close to a half-chair. The critical phenyl ring is fixed in a pseudo-axial and perpendicular [dihedral angle 84.6?(1)°] orientation with respect to the pyrimidine ring via an oxygen bridge.

Project description:In the title compound, C12H14N2S, the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation with the exocyclic C-C bond in an equatorial orientation. The mean plane through the cyclo-hexane ring (all atoms) is twisted from the thia-zolo-pyridine ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.013?Å) by 39.57?(6)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules form (100) sheets, although there are no specific directional inter-actions between them. The crystal stucture was refined as a two-component perfect twin.

The amide structure of the thia-zolidinone rings leads to inter-molecular hydrogen-bonded dimers of the R and S enanti-omers.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(4)OS(5), is essentially planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.032?(3)?Å. All the C-S single bonds are shorter than the standard Csp(3)-S single-bond length, showing the ?-conjugated nature of the molecule. In the crystal, molecules lie parallel to one another and pack in columns along the a axis. Short inter-molecular S?S contacts [3.314?(3), 3.482?(2) and 3.501?(2)?Å] are observed between the columns. The angle between the two mol-ecular dipole moments in the unit cell is 39.3?(1)° and the macro-polarization vector is along the [1 0 - 1.41] direction. As a result of the high polarization and ?-conjugation of the structure, the crystalline powder exhibits a second harmonic generating intensity, which is as strong as that of the urea standard powder crystals, when irradiated by a 1053?nm laser beam. The diffraction space of the crystal showed a nonmerohedral twinning.
