ABSTRACT: The complete mol-ecule of the title compound, C(17)H(22)N(2)O(4)S(2), is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry, with one C atom lying on the rotation axis. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 44.04?(7)° and the conformation of the central N-C-C-C group is gauche. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating corrugated (010) sheets, and weak C-H?O inter-actions consolidate the packing.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(17)H(16)N(4), is a bis-indazole crystallized in the rare 2H-tautomeric form. Indazole heterocycles are connected by a propane C(3) chain, and the mol-ecule is placed on a general position, in contrast to the analogous compound with a central C(2) ethane bridge, which was previously found to be placed on an inversion center in the same space group. In the title mol-ecule, indazole rings make a dihedral angle of 60.11?(7)°, and the bridging alkyl chain displays a trans conformation, resulting in a W-shaped mol-ecule. In the crystal, mol-ecules inter-act weakly through ?-? contacts between inversion-related pyrazole rings, with a centroid-centroid separation of 3.746?(2)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, C23H24O3, was obtained in a one-step (60% yield) synthesis from 1,1,1-tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane. It features a tripodal ligand capable of complexing metal centres. One of the three conformations involving the methyl group, the central C-C bond and the phenoxy substituents is antiperiplanar while the two others are synclinal [the corresponding C-C-C-O torsion angles are -174.6?(1), -53.2?(2) and -47.3?(2)°]. In the crystal, C-H?O inter-actions link the molecules into [010] chains.

Project description:The title compound, [Rh2Br2(C8H12)2(C17H32N4)], was obtained by the reaction of 3,3'-(propane-1,3-di-yl)bis-(1-isopropyl-3,4,5,6-tetra-hydro-pyrimidin-1-ium) bromide and [{Rh(cod)Cl}2] (cod is cyclo-octa-1,5-diene) in tetra-hydro-furan. The two Rh(I) atoms each have a distorted square-planar coordination environment, defined by a bidentate cod ligand, a bromide anion and one C atom of the bridging bidentate bis-N-heterocyclcic carbene (NHC) ligand. The average Rh-CNHC distance is 2.038?(7)?Å, suggesting that the bond has a major ? contribution with very little back donation. The distances between the cod ligands and the Rh(I) atoms vary between 2.104?(4) and 2.210?(4)?Å.

The toluene solvent mol-ecule resides in the lattice and resides on an inversion centre; the disorder of the methyl group requires it to have a site-occupancy factor of 0.5. No crystal packing channels are observed.

The complex mol-ecule lies about a crystallographic inversion centre. The Zn(II) atom exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry defined by two imidazole N atoms and two Cl atoms. O-H?Cl hydrogen bonding between the lattice water mol-ecules and the terminal Cl atoms of the mol-ecule lead to a two-dimensional structure extending parallel to (100).
