ABSTRACT: The mean plane of the pyrazolone ring [maximum deviation = 0.054?(1)?Å] of the title compound, C(14)H(15)N(3)O(2), is oriented at a dihedral angle of 36.05?(7)° with respect to the phenyl ring. The methyl group is slightly disposed [distance = 0.864?(2)?Å] out of the mean plane of the pyrazolone ring to which it is attached.

Synthesis of Energetic 7-Nitro-3,5-dihydro-4H-pyrazolo[4,3-d][1,2,3]triazin-4-one Based on a Novel Hofmann-Type Rearrangement.

Project description:Rearrangement reactions are efficient strategies in organic synthesis and contribute enormously to the development of energetic materials. Here, we report on the preparation of a fused energetic structure of 7-nitro-3,5-dihydro-4H-pyrazolo[4,3-d][1,2,3]triazin-4-one (NPTO) based on a novel Hofmann-type rearrangement. The 1,2,3-triazine unit was introduced into the fused bicyclic skeleton from a pyrazole unit for the first time. The new compound of NPTO was fully characterized using multinuclear NMR and IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis as well as X-ray diffraction studies. The thermal behaviors and detonation properties of NPTO were investigated through a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC-TG) approach and EXPLO5 program-based calculations, respectively. The calculation results showed similar detonation performances between NPTO and the energetic materials of DNPP and ANPP, indicating that NPTO has a good application perspective in insensitive explosives and propellants.

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, C(11)H(15)NO(4), the mol-ecules are linked into sheets by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Within the mol-ecule, the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring exhibits a distinctive planar conformation [r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane of 0.009?(3)Å], and the other non-H atoms are almost coplanar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.021?(3)?Å] with the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring. The conformation of the latter is governed mainly by two intra-molecular C-H?O non-classical inter-actions.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(19)H(23)NO(4), was synthesized by the reaction of benzaldehyde, ethyl acetoacetate and NH(4)HCO(3). The dihydro-pyridine ring adopts a flattened boat conformation and the plane of the base of the boat forms a dihedral angle of 88.78 (9)° with the phenyl ring. The packing is stabilized by strong inter-molecular N-H⋯O and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in fused eight- and seven-membered rings with R(2) (2)(8) and R(2) (2)(7) graph-set motifs, respectively.
