Bis(piperazine-1,4-diium) hexa-chlorido-bismuthate(III) chloride monohydrate.


ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(4)H(12)N(2))(2)[BiCl(6)]Cl·H(2)O, consists of piperazinediium cations, [BiCl(6)](3-) anions, Cl(-) anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The Bi(III) cation is coordinated by six Cl(-) anions in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The diprotonated piperazine ring adopts a chair conformation. In the crystal, extensive inter-molecular N-H?Cl, N-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds occur.
