Inhibitors of the mammalian target of rapamycin (MTOR) belong to a family of drugs with potent immunosuppressive, antiangiogenic, and antiproliferative properties. De novo or worsening proteinuria can occur during treatment with these agents, but the mechanism by which this occurs is unknown.
