ABSTRACT: In the title salt, C(14)H(16)N(+)·Cl(-), the complete cation and complete anion are generated by the application of mirror symmetry. The mol-ecule is nonplanar, as seen in the dihedral angle between the terminal phenyl rings [70.92?(5)°]. In the crystal, N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds involving both aza-nium H atoms link the ions into a zigzag supra-molecular chain along [100].

Project description:The title compound, (C(14)H(16)N)[Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(2)O(2))], was synthesised by allowing C(2)O(4)(Bz(2)NH(2))(2) (Bz = benzyl) to react with SnPh(3)Cl. The asymmetric unit is built up by four SnPh(3)C(2)O(4) anions and four Bz(2)NH(2) cations which are related by a pseudo-inversion centre. Each Sn(IV) cation is five-coordinated by the three phenyl groups and two O atoms belonging to the chelating oxalate ligand; the coordination geometry is that of a distorted trigonal bipyramid. Anions and cations are linked through N-H?O hydrogen bonds into a layer structure parallel to (001). Moreover, the anion-cation pairs are associated by two bifurcated N-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating pseudo-dimers. One of the phenyl groups of one anion is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.69:0.31 ratio. The Flack parameter value of 0.44?(1) indicates racemic twinning.

Project description:In the title salt (common name l-carnitine hydro-chloride), C(7)H(16)NO(3) (+)·Cl(-), the organic cation features a carb-oxy-lic part (-CO(2)H) having unambigous single- and double-bonds [1.336 (2), 1.211 (2) Å]. There is a large N-C-C bond angle [115.9 (1)°] for the C atom connected to the bulky trimethyl-amino substituent. In the crystal, the acid H atom forms a hydrogen bond to the chloride anion, whereas the hydroxyl H atom forms a longer hydrogen bond to the anion, generating a helical chain running along [001].

Project description:The title compound, C18H24NO3 (+)·Cl(-)·H2O, was synthesized by the reaction of propranolol hydro-chloride with acetyl chloride in chloro-form followed by slow evaporation in air. In the cation, the dihedral angle between the planes of the naphthalene ring system and the acetate group is 71.1 (2)°. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond results in the formation of a non-planar pseudo-ring, with the ether O and the H atom displaced by -1.328 (2) and 0.65 Å, respectively, from the plane of the other ring atoms. The cation and anion are linked by an N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond. The water molecule is linked to a methyl H atom by C-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

7-Amino-heptyl-aza-nium iodide.

Project description:The absolute structure of the title compound, [H(3)N-(CH(2))(7)-NH(2)]I, has been determined from the diffraction experiment, the Flack parameter refining to -0.02?(2). In the crystal, adjacent symmetry-related cations are connected by head-to-tail R'H(2)N(+)-H?NH(2)R hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [010]. The remaining four H atoms attached to the amino and the aza-nium group form weak hydrogen bonds to neighbouring iodide anions, producing a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network. The amino group and the aliphatic chain of the 7-amino-heptyl-aza-nium cation show an exact all-trans conformation, within experimental uncertainties. The aza-nium group, to fulfill the needs of hydrogen bonding, is twisted out of the plane defined by the C atoms of the aliphatic chain, the C-C-C-N torsion angle being -65.4?(4)°.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(12)H(22)N(+)·Cl(-)·0.1H(2)O, consists of (3,5-dimethyl-1-adamantyl)ammonium chloride (memanti-nium chloride) and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The four six-membered rings of the memanti-nium cation assume typical chair conformations. The Cl(-) counter-anion links with the memanti-nium cation via N-H?Cl hydrogen bonding, forming channels where the disordered crystal water molecules are located. Project description:The title salt, [P(NHCH(2)C(6)H(5))(4)](+)·Cl(-), crystallizes with the P atom and Cl(-) anion lying on a twofold rotation axis. The P atom has a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry with two classes of N-P-N angles [101.15 (10) and 100.55 (11)° and 113.07 (9) and 114.83 (8)°] and the environments of sp(2)-hybridized N atoms are essentially planar (sum of angles = 359.9 and 360.1°). In the crystal, the phospho-nium ion inter-acts with each neighboring chloride ion via two approximately equal N-H⋯Cl inter-actions, forming parallel chains along the c axis.

In the [H6L](6+) cation, two strong intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds occur, involving the N atoms of the oxadiazole ring as acceptors and the closest NH(+) groups of each dipropyl-enetriamine unit. In the crystal, the [H6L](6+) cations form channels along the a-axis direction, in which the perchlorate counter-ions and the water mol-ecules are lodged. The crystal packing features a network of N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the NH(+) groups of the [H6L](6+) cation, the perchlorate anions and the water mol-ecules.
