Tetra-kis(azido-?N)(di-2-pyridyl-amine-?(2)N(2),N(2'))platinum(IV).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Pt(N(3))(4)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], the Pt(IV) ion is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment by the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and four N atoms from four azide anions. The dpa ligand is not planar, the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 20.0?(3)°. The azide ligands are slightly bent [N-N-N = 173.5?(8)-175.1?(8)°]. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are connected by N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a chain along the b axis. An inter-molecular ?-? inter-action between the chains is also present, the ring centroid-centroid distance being 3.713?(4)?Å.

Project description:The Pt(IV) ion in the title complex, [PtBr(4)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment by two pyridine N atoms from a chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and four Br(-) anions. The complex mol-ecule has mirror symmetry, with the Pt(IV) atom, two Br atoms and the central N atom of the dpa ligand lying on the mirror plane. The dpa ligand is not planar, showing a dihedral angle of 34.7 (2)° between the pyridine rings. The complex mol-ecules are connected by inter-molecular N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [001]. Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Mn(NCSe)(2)(C(12)H(10)N(2))(2)]·C(12)H(10)N(2)}(2n), consists of two crystallographically independent Mn cations, four seleno-cyanate anions, four 1,2-di-pyridylethylene (bpe) ligands (two of which are located on centers of inversion) and two bpe solvent molecules. Each manganese(II) cation is coordinated by two terminally N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions and four bpe ligands within a slightly distorted octa-hedron. The manganese(II) cations are linked by the bpe ligands into chains that are further connected by these ligands into layers. These layers are stacked, forming cavities in which additional bpe solvent molecules are embedded.

Tetra-kis(di-cyclo-hexyl-amido)-zirconium(IV).

Project description:The reaction of ZrCl4 with three equivalents of LiNCy2 (Cy is cyclo-hex-yl) resulted in the formation of tris-(di-cyclo-hexyl-amido)-zirconium chloride and the title compound, [Zr(C12H22N)4]. The latter is isotypic with its cerium(IV) analogue and crystallizes with three independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. One mol-ecule is located about a twofold rotation axis, and the other two on fourfold inversion axes. In each mol-ecule, the ZrIV atom has a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. The crystal under investigation was twinned by inversion in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, which represents a mixed-valence platinum(II,IV) complex, {[Pt(II)Pt(IV)I2(C2H8N2)4][CH3(CH2)7SO3]4·2H2O} n , has been redetermined in a different space group. In contrast to the previously reported determination in the space group P21 cn [Matsushita & Taira (1999 ▸). Synth. Met. 102, 1787-1788], the current model was refined in the centrosymmetric space group Pmcn using the original diffraction data. The title compound has a linear chain structure composed of square-planar [Pt(en)2](2+) and elongated octa-hedral trans-[PtI2(en)2](2+) cations (en is ethyl-enedi-amine) stacked alternately, bridged by the I atoms, parallel to the c axis. Inorganic layers aligned parallel to the bc plane, composed of the Pt-complex columns, the -SO3 (-) part of the octane-1-sulfonate anion, and the water mol-ecule of crystallization, are stacked alternately with organic layers composed of the long-chain alkyl groups along the a axis. The Pt and I sites are located on the same mirror plane whereby the I site is equally disordered over two positions. The Pt and I atoms form a slight zigzag ⋯I-Pt(IV)-I⋯Pt(II)⋯ chain, with Pt(IV)-I bond lengths of 2.6888 (17) and 2.7239 (17) Å, Pt(II)⋯I contacts of 3.2065 (17) and 3.1732 (16) Å, and Pt(IV)-I⋯Pt(II) angles of 178.3 (3) and 176.7 (2)°. The mixed-valence state of the Pt site is expressed by the structural parameter δ = (Pt(IV)-I)/(Pt(II)⋯I), with values of 0.839 and 0.858 for the two independent I atoms. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the cationic chains, the sulfonate groups and water mol-ecules of crystallization, stabilize the columnar structure.

Two O(2-) and two OH(-) anions bridge four Sn(IV) cations to form the tetra-nuclear compound. The two independent Sn(IV) cations assume SnO(3)C(2) and SnO(2)C(2)Cl distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometries. Intra-molecular O-H?Cl hydrogen bonding is present in the structure. One Cl atom of a chloro-benzyl ligand is disordered over two sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.693?(2):0.307?(2).

Project description:The Pt(II) ion in the title complex, [PtBr(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], is four-coordinated in an essentially square-planar environment by two N atoms from a chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two Br(-) anions. The dpa ligand is not planar, with the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 40.8?(2)°. The complex mol-ecules are stacked in columns along [001] through ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.437?(3) and 3.520?(3)?Å]. Tetra(chlorido/iodido)(1,10-phenanthroline)platinum(IV) hemi[di(chlorine/iodine)].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PtCl(3.66)I(0.34)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·0.5(Cl(0.13)I(1.87)), contains a neutral Pt(IV) complex and one half of a halogen molecule. The Pt(IV) ion is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by two N atoms of the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and Cl or I atoms. The refinement of the structure and the EDX analysis indicate that the compound is a solid solution in which there is some substitution of Cl for I and vice versa. The chemical formula of the pure state of the compound would have been [PtCl(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·0.5I(2). In the analysed crystal, two Cl atoms are partially (ca 25% and 9%) replaced by I atoms, and the I(2) mol-ecule has a minor component modelled as ICl. As a result of the disorder, the different trans effects of the N and Cl/I atoms are not distinct. The complex displays inter-molecular π-π inter-actions between the six-membered rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.771 (4) Å. There are also weak intra-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Pd(N(3))(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], the Pd(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment. The ligator atoms comprise the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two N atoms from two azide anions. The dpa ligand coordinates the Pd atom in a boat conformation, the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 24.4?(1)°. The pyridine rings are somewhat inclined to the least-squares plane of the PdN(4) unit, making dihedral angles of 29.02?(9) and 26.47?(9)°. The azide ligands are slightly bent, with N-N-N angles of 173.0?(4) and 174.2?(4)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?N and C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the c axis. When viewed down the b axis, successive chains are stacked in opposite directions. Intra-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds are also observed.

Project description:In the title salt, [(CH3CH2CH2)2NH2]4[Sn(C2O4)4]·H2O, the Sn(IV) atom of the stannate anion is located on a special position with -42m symmetry. It is eight-coordinated by four chelating oxalate anions. The di-propyl-ammonium cation possesses mirror symmetry while the lattice water mol-ecule is disordered about a position with -42m symmetry and has an occupancy of 0.25. In the crystal, the anions and cations are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. This network is futher stabilized by weak O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules and oxalate O atoms. The crystal studied was refined as an inversion twin.
