Dibromido(di-2-pyridyl-amine-?(2)N(2),N(2'))platinum(II).

ABSTRACT: The Pt(II) ion in the title complex, [PtBr(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], is four-coordinated in an essentially square-planar environment by two N atoms from a chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two Br(-) anions. The dpa ligand is not planar, with the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 40.8?(2)°. The complex mol-ecules are stacked in columns along [001] through ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.437?(3) and 3.520?(3)?Å]. Inter-molecular N-H?Br hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into chains running along [010]. Intra-molecular C-H?Br interactions are also observed.

Project description:The Pt(II) ion in the title complex, [PtBr(2)(C(14)H(10)N(4))], is four-coordinated in a distorted square-planar environment by two N atoms of a chelating 2,3-di-2-pyridyl-pyrazine ligand and two bromide anions. In the crystal, the pyridyl ring coordinated to the Pt atom is inclined slightly to its carrier pyrazine ring [dihedral angle = 14.7 (2)°], whereas the uncoordinated pyridyl ring is inclined considerably to the pyrazine ring [dihedral angle = 51.9 (3)°]. The dihedral angle between the two pyridyl rings is 57.7 (3)°. Two complex mol-ecules are assembled through inter-molecular C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a dimer-type species. Intra-molecular C-H⋯Br and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The Pt(II) ion in the title complex, [PtBr(2)(C(14)H(10)N(4))], has a slightly distorted square-planar environment defined by the two pyridyl N atoms of the chelating 2,3-di-2-pyridyl-pyrazine ligand and two bromide anions. In the crystal, the pyridyl rings are considerably inclined to the least-squares plane of the PtBr(2)N(2) unit [maximum deviation = 0.064?(2)?Å] with dihedral angles of 65.2?(2) and 66.0?(2)°. The nearly planar pyrazine ring [maximum deviation = 0.020?(5)?Å] is almost perpendicular to the unit plane with a dihedral angle of 89.2?(2)°. Two independent weak inter-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds, both involving the same Br atom as a hydrogen-bond acceptor, give rise to chains running along the a and b axes, forming a layer structure extending parallel to (001). The complexes are stacked in columns along the a axis. When viewed down the b axis, the successive complexes stack in the opposite direction.

Project description:The molecular structure of the title compound, [ZnBr(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S(2))], contains a seven-membered chelate ring in which the zinc atom is coordinated by two bromide ions and by the two pyridyl N atoms of a single 2,2'-dipyridyldisulfide (dpds) ligand within a slightly distorted tetra-hedron. As is usual for this type of complex, the disulfide group does not participate in zinc coordination. The chelate complexes are connected via weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonding into chains, which extend in the [010] direction.

Project description:The molecule of the title compound, [ZnBr(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S)], contains a six-membered chelate ring in a boat conformation in which the Zn atom is coordinated by two Br atoms and by the two pyridyl N atoms of a single di-2-pyridyl sulfide (dps) ligand within a slightly distorted tetra-hedron. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 52.7 (1)°. As is usual for this type of complex, the sulfide group does not participate in the zinc coordination.

Project description:In the title compound, [CuBr(2)(C(8)H(22)N(4))], the Cu(II) atom is six-coordinate forming a distorted octa-hedral complex and is bonded to two axial bromide anions and four equatorial nitro-gen donors. The equatorial Cu-N bond distances range from 2.005 (8) to 2.046 (8) Å while the axial Cu-Br distances are 2.8616 (17) and 2.9402 (17) Å, thus the six-coordinate Cu complex shows the usual Jahn-Teller distortion. All amine hydrogen atoms participate in either inter- or intra-molecular hydrogen bonding to the Br anions.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(SO(4))(C(10)H(9)N(3))(CH(3)OH)], is a mononuclear species with the Cu(II) ion in a Jahn-Teller-distorted '4 + 1' square-pyramidal geometry. The basal plane is defined by the pyridyl N-atom donors of the bipyridyl-amine (bpa) ligand and two O-atom donors of the sulfate ligand.
