Bis[2-(diphenyl-phosphanyl-?P)benzaldehyde]-iodidogold(I).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [AuI(C(19)H(15)OP)(2)], the complete mol-ecule is generated by the application of twofold symmetry. The Au(I) atom is in a trigonal-planar geometry within an IP(2) donor set with the greatest distortion seen in the P-Au-P angle [128.49?(3) °]. Close intra-molecular Au?O inter-actions [3.172?(3)?Å] are observed. No specific inter-molecular inter-actions are noted in the crystal packing.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(26)H(22)N(4)S, is composed of three main parts, viz. a triphenyl-amine group is connected to a phenyl ring by a thio-semicarbazone moiety. The C= N double bond has an E conformation. The crystal packing is dominated by strong hydrogen bonds through the thio-semicarbazone moiety, with pairs of N-H?S hydrogen bonds linking the mol-ecules to form inversion dimers with an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif. An intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bond is also present, generating an S(5) ring motif. Although the structure contains four phenyl rings, ?-? stacking inter-actions are not formed between them, probably due to the conformation adopted by the triphenyl-amine group. However, a weak ?-? stacking inter-action is observed between the phenyl ring and the delocalized thio-semicarbazone moiety.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, 2C(19)H(17)N(2) (+)·C(4)H(2)O(4) (2-), consists of centrosymmetric trimers built up of two crystallographically independent N,N'-diphenyl-benzamid-in-ium cations and one fumarate dianion, which is located on a centre of inversion. The components of the trimers are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. In the cation, the outer rings make dihedral angles of 53.66 (5) and 78.38 (5)° with the central ring. The two outer rings make a dihdral angle of 81.49 (5)°.
