Bis(acetato-?O)(di-2-pyridyl-amine-?(2)N(2),N(2'))palladium(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Pd(CH(3)COO)(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], the Pd(II) ion is four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two O atoms from two anionic acetate ligands. The dpa ligand coordinates the Pd(II) atom in a boat conformation of the resulting chelate ring; the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 39.3?(2)°. The two acetate anions coordinate the Pd(II) atom as monodentate ligands and are located on the same sides of the PdN(2)O(2) unit plane. The carboxyl-ate groups of the anionic ligands appear to be delocalized on the basis of the C-O bond lengths. Two complex mol-ecules are assembled through inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a dimer-type species. Inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Pd(N(3))(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], the Pd(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment. The ligator atoms comprise the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two N atoms from two azide anions. The dpa ligand coordinates the Pd atom in a boat conformation, the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 24.4?(1)°. The pyridine rings are somewhat inclined to the least-squares plane of the PdN(4) unit, making dihedral angles of 29.02?(9) and 26.47?(9)°. The azide ligands are slightly bent, with N-N-N angles of 173.0?(4) and 174.2?(4)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?N and C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the c axis. When viewed down the b axis, successive chains are stacked in opposite directions. Intra-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds are also observed.

Project description:The mononuclear neutral title complex, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))(2)], shows a cis-octa-hedral geometry around the Ni(II) ion, formed by two chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (Hdpa) ligands and two thio-cyanate anions. Both amine H atoms are involved in N-H?S hydrogen bonding, resulting in the formation of layers of inter-linked mol-ecules parallel to the ab plane, which are further held together by weak ?-? inter-actions between adjacent complexes, involving one ring of each dipyridyl-amine unit [centroid-centroid distance = 3.777?(4)?Å], forming a three-dimensional assembly.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(10)H(9)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)]I, contains a cationic Mn(II) complex and an I(-) anion. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted cis-N(4)IO octa-hedral environment defined by four N atoms of the two chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligands, one I(-) anion and one O atom of a water ligand. Project description:The title centrosymmetric bimetallic complex, [Cu(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(4)], is composed of two copper(II) cations, four acetate anions and four isonicotinamide (INA) ligands. The asymmetric unit contains one copper cation to which two acetate units bind asymmetrically; one of the Cu-O distances is rather long [2.740?(2)?Å], almost at the limit of coordination. These Cu-O bonds define an equatorial plane to which the Cu-N bonds to the INA ligands are almost perpendicular, the Cu-N vectors subtending angles of 2.4?(1) and 2.3?(1)° to the normal to the plane. The metal coordination geometry can be described as a slightly distorted trigonal bipyramid if the extremely weak Cu-O bond is disregarded, or as a highly distorted square bipyramid if it is not. The double acetate bridge between the copper ions is not coplanar with the CuO(4) equatorial planes, the dihedral angle between the (O-C-O)(2) and O-Cu-O groups being 34.3?(1)°, resulting in a sofa-like conformation for the 8-member bridging loop. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds occur, some of which generate a head-to tail-linkage between INA units, giving raise to chains along [101]; the remaining ones make inter-chain contacts, defining a three-dimensional network. There are in addition a number of C-H?O bonds involving aromatic H atoms. Probably due to steric hindrance, the aromatic rings are not involved in significant ??? inter-actions.
