Catena-Poly[[[aqua-(pyrazine-2-carboxamide-?(2)N(1),O)zinc]-?-pyrazine-2-carboxamide-?(3)N(1),O:N(4)] dinitrate].

ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title compound, {[Zn(C(5)H(5)N(3)O)(2)(H(2)O)](NO(3))(2)}(n), the Zn(II) cation is N,O-chelated by two pyrazine-2-carboxamide (PCA) ligands and is further coordinated by one water mol-ecule and by one pyrazine-N atom from an adjacent PCA ligand in a distorted ZnN(3)O(3) octa-hedral geometry. One of the two independent PCA ligands bridges two Zn(II) cations, forming a zigzag polymeric chain running along the c axis. In the crystal, the NO(3) (-) anions link to the chain via O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonding. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:In the title metal-organic polymeric complex, [CuI(C5H5N3O)] n , the asymmetric unit is composed of one monomer unit of the polymer and one Cu(I) atom linked to one iodide anion and one pyrazine-2-carboxamide mol-ecule. The Cu(I) atom is in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination completed by one pyrazine N atom of the pyrazine-2-carboxamide ligand and three iodide anions. The polymeric structure adopts a well-known ladder-like motif of {CuNI3} tetra-hedra running in the b-axis direction. The mol-ecules of the organic ligand are connected via medium-to-strong N-H?O and N-H?N hydrogen bonds and weak ?-? inter-actions [the distance between two parallel planes of the rings is 3.5476?(14)?Å and the centroid-centroid contact is 4.080?(2)?Å]. The title compound has a relatively high decomposition temperature (564?K) as a result of relatively strong covalent and non-covalent inter-actions inside and between the chains.

One Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and two pyrazine-2-carboxamide ligands in a distorted O(4)N(2) octa-hedral geometry; the other is N,O-chelated by two pyrazine-2-carboxamide ligands and further coordinated by two sulfate anions in a distorted O(4)N(2) octa-hedral geometry. The pyrazine-2-carboxamide ligands bridge the Cu(II) atoms to form a polymeric chain running along [110]. The crystal structure features N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(C(6)H(3)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), contains an Li(I) ion with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. It is chelated by a singly protonated ligand mol-ecule via its heterocyclic N atom, by two O aoms, each donated by an adjacent carboxyl-ate group, and is further coordinated by a water O atom which acts as a bridge, forming a mol-ecular ribbon. A proton attached to one of the carboxyl-ate O atoms is situated on an inversion centre and forms a short centrosymmetric hydrogen bond, generating mol-ecular layers parallel to the ac plane. These layers are held together by weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds in which the coordinated water mol-ecules act as donors, whereas carboxyl-ate O atoms are acceptors.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(C(18)H(10)N(4))(H(2)O)](n) or [Zn(PZDC)(DPPZ)(H(2)O)](n) (where DPPZ is dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine and H(2)PZDC is pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid), the Zn atom is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry by three N atoms from one DPPZ ligand and one PZDC(2-) dianion, three O atoms from two different PZDC(2-) ligands and one water mol-ecule. Each PZDC(2-) dianion serves as a spacer, connecting adjacent metal atoms into a polymeric chain structure parallel to the b axis. The chain motif is consolidated into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and π-π aromatic stacking inter-actions involving adjacent DPPZ ligands and PZDC(2-) dianions with centroid-centroid separations of 3.522 (6) and 3.732 (8) Å, respectively.

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(3)](n), is a new monoclinic polymorph. The ortho-rhom-bic form has previously been reported [Ma et al. (2006 ?). Acta Cryst. E62, m2528-m2529]. The Cd-N and Cd-O bond lengths range from 2.265?(3) to 2.333?(3)?Å; a weak Cd-O inter-action is also present, the inter-atomic distance being 2.658?(4)?Å. The Cd(II) ions, which have a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry, are bridged by pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ato ligands, forming a zigzag chain structure. The chains are connected by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional framework.

In the equatorial plane, it is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms of two symmetry-related monodentate formyl-benzoate anions and by two N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand, which is bis-ected by the twofold rotation axis. The axial positions are occupied by two O atoms of the coordinating water mol-ecules. The pyrazine ligands bridge the Cu(II) cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b-axis direction. Strong intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the water mol-ecules to the carboxyl-ate O atoms. In the crystal, O-Hwater?Owater hydrogen bonds link adjacent chains into layers parallel to the bc plane. The layers are linked via C-Hpyrazine?Oform-yl hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. There are also weak C-H?? inter-actions present.

Project description:The central structural motif of the title coordination polymer, [Co(NO3)2(C4H4N2)(CH3CN)2(H2O)2] n , is a chain composed of Co(II) ions linked by bis-monodentate bridging pyrazine ligands through their N atoms. The Co(II) ion is located on an inversion center and is additionally coordinated by two O atoms of water mol-ecules and two N atoms of aceto-nitrile mol-ecules. The resultant N4O2 coordination sphere is distorted octa-hedral. The linear cationic chains extend parallel to the a axis and are aligned into layers parallel to the ac plane. Nitrate anions are situated in the space between the Co(II) chains and form O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the coordinating water mol-ecules, leading to a three-dimensional network structure. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also present between pyrazine or aceto-nitrile mol-ecules and the nitrate anions.

Project description:In the title polymeric coordination complex, {[Cd(C(22)H(20)N(2)O(6))(H(2)O)(4)](NO(3))(2)·0.5H(2)O}(n), obtained from the self-assembly of the flexible double betaine 3,3'-[p-phenyl-enebis(oxymethyl-ene)]bis-(1-pyridinioacetate) with cadmium nitrate, both the octa-hedrally coordinated Cd(II) cation and the substituted betaine ligand lie on inversion centres. The chains constructed through the trans-related acetate groups of the ligand are inter-connected via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving coordinated aqua ligands, the nitrate anions and the partial-occupancy (0.25) water mol-ecule of solvation, forming a three-dimensional structure.
