ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title organic salt, 2C(5)H(6)N(+)·C(10)H(6)O(6)S(2) (2-)·2H(2)O, consists of a pyridinium cation, half a naphthalene-1,5-disulfonate dianion and a water mol-ecule. The dianion has a crystallographically imposed centre of symmetry. In the crystal, N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link cations, anions and water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

In the dication, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 74.67?(6)°. The cations and anions inter-act through N-H?O hydrogen bonds. The NH(3) (+) functional groups are also involved in N-H?O hydrogen bonds with the water mol-ecules, forming an infinite three-dimensional framework in the crystal structure.

Project description:The title hydrated mol-ecular organic salt, C10H10N2 (2+)·C10H6O6S2 (2-)·2H2O, crystallized with half a bipyridinium cation, half a naphthalene-2,6-di-sulfonate anion and a water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The whole cation and anion are generated by inversion symmetry, the inversion centers being at the center of the bridging C-C bond of the cation, and at the center of the fused C-C bond of the naphthalene group of the anion. In the crystal, the anions and cations stack alternately along the a axis with ?-? inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.491?(1)?Å]. The anions are linked via O-H?O(sulfonate) hydrogen bonds involving two inversion-related water mol-ecules, forming chains along [10-1]. These chains are bridged by bifurcated N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework structure. There are also C-H?O hydrogen bonds present, reinforcing the framework structure.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title salt, C14H18N2O(2+)·2CF3O3S(-), the components are linked by two N-H?O and one C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The dipyridinium salt demonstrates a skew conformation based upon C-O-C-C torsion angles of 61.5?(3) and 15.1?(4)°. A C-O-C angle of 119.3?(2)° and C-O bond distances of 1.364?(3) and 1.389?(3)?Å are consistent with other dipyridyl ethers. The planes of the pyridyl rings exhibit a twist angle of 67.89?(8)°. One of the tri-fluoro-methane-sulfonate ions shows disorder of the F atoms [in a 0.52?(7):0.48?(7) occupancy ratio] and an O atom [0.64?(8):0.36?(8) occupancy ratio]. In the crystal, the components are linked by C-H?O inter-actions, which form chains along [101].

The mol-ecular structure suggests that the meth-oxy groups in the 1- and 5-positions of the naphthalene moiety do not significantly distort the planar conformation of the ring system, which has a maximum deviation of 0.0025?(9)?Å. Project description:The title organic-inorganic hybrid salt, (C7H11N2)2[V(C2O4)2O(H2O)]·2H2O, shows a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment for the vanadium(IV) atom in the anion (point group symmetry 2), with four O atoms from two symmetry-related chelating oxalate dianions and two O atoms in trans configuration from a coordinating water mol-ecule and a terminal vanadyl O atom. In the crystal, (001) layers of cations and anions alternate along [001]. The anionic layers are built up by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinating and solvent water mol-ecules. The cationic layers are linked to the anionic layers via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the pyridinium group and the non-coordinating O atoms of the oxalate group. The 4-(di-methyl-amino)-pyridinium cations are also engaged in π-π stacking with their anti-parallel neighbours [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.686 (2) Å]. Considering all supra-molecular features, a three-dimensional network structure is accomplished.
