Bis(dicyanamido-?N)tetra-kis-(pyridine-?N)nickel(II).

ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], the Ni(II) cations are coordinated by four pyridine ligands and two dicyanamide anions into discrete complexes. The shortest Ni?Ni separation is 8.1068?(10)?Å. The structure is pseudo-centrosymmetric and can also be refined in the space group C2/c in which both anionic ligands are strongly disordered and the refinement leads to significantly poorer reliability factors.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], was prepared by the reaction of pyridine and trichloro-acetatonickel(II) in ethanol solution at room temperature. The Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination made up of four N atoms of the pyridine ligands and two O atoms of trichloro-acetate anions. The mol-ecular structure and packing are stabilized by intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(BF4)2(C5H5N)2], the Cu(II) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment and is surrounded by four pyridine and two tetra-fluoridoborate mol-ecules. The four pyridine mol-ecules are coordinated to the copper ion through their N atoms in the equatorial plane and display a right-handed screw arrangement around the Cu(II) ion. The remaining two trans positions in the octa-hedron are occupied by the BF4 (-) anions, each coordinating weakly through an F atom. Project description:The title salt, [Pd(C(6)H(4)N(2))(4)](CF(3)SO(3))(2), comprises Pd(4-cyano-pyridine)(4) dications balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pd(II) atom lies in a square-planar geometry defined by four N atoms which form equivalent Pd-N inter-actions. The 4-cyano-pyridine ligands are twisted out of the N(4) plane, forming dihedral angles ranging from 66.5?(2) to 89.9?(2)°. Project description:In the title compound, {[NiTb2(C14H8N2O5)4(H2O)4]·4H2O} n , the Tb(III) ion is coordinated by one water mol-ecule and seven O atoms from four 5-(pyridine-4-carboxamido)-isophthalate (L) ligands in a distorted square-anti-prismatic arrangement, while the Ni(II) ion, lying on an inversion center, is six-coordinated in an octa-hedral geometry by two pyridine N atoms, two carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules. One L ligand bridges two Tb(III) ions and one Ni(II) ion through two carboxyl-ate groups and one pyridine N atom. The other L ligand bridges two Tb(III) ions and one Ni(II) ion through two carboxyl-ate groups, while the uncoordinating pyridine N atom is hydrogen bonded to an adjacent coordinating water mol-ecule. Extensive O-H?O, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds play an important role in stabilizing the crystal structure.
