ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C?H?N?O)(C?H?N?O)(H?O)]ClO?·H?O, the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinated by the N atoms from the 1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethanone oximate and 1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethan-one oxime ligands and by the water O atom in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The two organic ligands are linked by an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules and ions are linked by O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, forming chains along the a axis. The perchlorate O atoms are disordered in a 0.58?(2):0.42?(2) ratio.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(7)H(7)N(2)O)Cl(C(7)H(8)N(2)O)]·3H(2)O, the metal ion is five-coordinated by the N atoms from the 1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethanone oximate and 1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethanone oxime ligands and by the chloride anion in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The distortion parameter is 0.192. The two organic ligands are linked by an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. The title compound is the hydrated form of a previously reported structure [Wu & Wu (2008 ?). Acta Cryst. E64, m828]. There are only slight variations in the mol-ecular geometries of the two compounds.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(C(13)H(10)ClN(2)O)(H(2)O)]NO(3)·H(2)O, was obtained by the reaction of 5-chloro-salicyl-aldehyde, 2-(amino-meth-yl)pyridine and copper nitrate in methanol. The first reported polymorph of this complex was triclinic [Liang et al. (2010 ?). Acta Cryst. E66, m40]. The present polymorph crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c. The Cu(II) ion is in a square planar environment and is coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one pyridine N atom of the tridentate Schiff base ligand and by one water O atom. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds to form chains along the a axis.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C?H?N?O)(NCS)(C?H?N?O)(H?O)] or [Ni(mpko)(SCN)(mpkoH)(H?O)] [where mpkoH = 1-(pyrazin-2-yl)ethanone oxime], the Ni(II) cation is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry, being coordinated in the equatorial plane by four N atoms from two different mpkoH ligands, one of which is deprotonated, and by one N atom from a thio-cyanate anion and one O atom from a water mol-ecule in the axial positions. There is an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond involving the oxime units of the two ligands. In the crystal, a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture is formed by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(SO4)(C13H13N3)(H2O)]·4H2O, was obtained by mixing copper sulfate penta-hydrate and 2-(pyridin-2-yl)-N-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-idene)ethanamine in eth-anol under reflux conditions. The Cu(II) ion shows a Jahn-Teller-distorted octa-hedral geometry, with equatorial positions occupied by three N atoms from the tridentate ligand (average Cu-N = 2.004?Å) and one O atom from a bidentate sulfate anion [Cu-O = 1.963?(2)?Å]. The axial positions are occupied by one O atom from a coordinating water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 2.230?(3)?Å] and one weakly bonded O atom [Cu-O = 2.750?(2)?Å] from the bidentate sulfate ion. The complex mol-ecules are connected through O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the coordinating water mol-ecules and sulfate ions from neighboring complexes, forming a double chain parallel to the c axis. The chains are stabilized through additional hydrogen bonds by one of the non-coordinating water mol-ecules bridging between neighboring strands of the double chains. The remaining three water mol-ecules fill the inter-stitial space between the double chains and are involved in an intricate hydrogen-bonding network that consolidates the structure.

Project description:The title complex, [CuII(ClO4)(mesoPYBP)](ClO4) {PYBP = 1,1'-bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]-2,2'-bipiperidyl, C22H30N4}, was prepared and found to crystallize with two crystallographically independent complex salt moieties. The metal atoms of the cations adopt a pseudo-square-pyramidal coordination geometry, where the tetra-dentate amino-pyridine ligands (PYBP) are wrapped around the Cu atoms in the equatorial plane. The Cu-O bonds involving an O atom of the coordinating perchlorate anion are approximately perpendicular to the plane. The two remaining non-coordinating perchlorate anions are involved in several C-H?O hydrogen bonds with the PYBP ligand and balance the total charge of the complex salt. The two crystallographically independent moieties are related to each other via a pseudo-translation along the a-axis direction. Exact translational symmetry is broken by (i) a difference in the conformation of one of the piperidine rings, featuring a chair conformation in one of the cations, and a sterically disfavored boat conformation in the other; and (ii) by modulation of the non-coordinating perchlorate anions.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C10H8N4)3(H2O)2](ClO4)2} n , the coordination environment of the cationic Cu(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by pairs of symmetry-equivalent 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands, bridging 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands and two non-equivalent water mol-ecules. The 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene mol-ecules form polymeric chains parallel to [-101] via azo bonds which are situated about inversion centres. Since the Cu(II) atom is situated on a twofold rotation axis, the monomeric unit has point symmetry 2. The perchlorate anions are disordered in a 0.536?(9):0.464?(9) ratio and are acceptors of water H atoms in medium-strong O-H?O hydrogen bonds with graph set R 4 (4)(12). The water mol-ecules, which are coordinated to the Cu(II) atom and are hydrogen-bonded to the perchlorate anions, form columns parallel to [010]. A ?-? inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.913?(2)?Å] occurs between pyridine rings, and weak C-H?O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, {[AsCl3(C5H5N)]·H2O} n , is characterized by polymeric chains consisting of alternating arsenic and chlorine atoms running parallel to the a axis. O-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen bonds mediated by non-coordinating water mol-ecules assemble these chains into a three-dimensional framework. The As(III) atom, the atoms of the pyridinium ring and the water O atom have m site symmetry and the bridging Cl atom has site symmetry 2. This is the first reported organotrichloro-arsenate(III) in which arsenic adopts a ?-octa-hedral fivefold coordination.

The two perchlorate anions are linked to the mononuclear complex mol-ecule through water O-H?O hydrogen bonds while inter-complex water O-H?N(pyridine) inter-actions form an infinite chain structure extending along the b axis. The perchlorate anions also function as inter-unit links through water O-H?O hydrogen bonds which, together with water O-H?O(carbon-yl) inter-actions, give a three-dimensional framework structure.
