ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [V(C(13)H(15)NO(3))O(CH(3)O)(CH(3)OH)], the V(V) atom is six-coordinated by a tridentate O,N,O'-donor ligand, derived from the condensation of salicyl-aldehyde and l-isoleucine, a vanadyl O atom, a methano-late O atom and a methanol O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The asymmetric unit contains two complex mol-ecules. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into a one-dimensional chain along [100].

Project description:The V(V) atom in the title complex, [V(C(14)H(8)BrClN(2)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], is six-coordinated by one phenolate O, one imine N and one enolic O atom of the hydrazone ligand, one oxide O atom, one methanol O atom and one methoxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings of the hydrazone ligand is 13.2?(3)°. The deviation of the V atom towards the oxide O atom from the plane defined by the three donor atoms of the hydrazone ligand and the meth-oxy O atom is 0.318?(2)?Å. Bond lengths are comparable with those observed in similar oxidovanadium(V) complexes with hydrazone ligands. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

Project description:The title oxovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(18)H(13)N(3)O(2))(CH(3)O)O(CH(3)OH)], was obtained by the reaction of 1-(2-hy-droxy-naphthalen-1-yl)ethanone, nicotinohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is six-coordinated by the N,N,O-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom, one methanol O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The methanol O atom lies trans to the V=O group. The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system is 31.52 (10)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds occur.

In the L ligand, the two benzene rings are nearly parallel, forming a dihedral angle of 2.0?(1)°. The tetra-nuclear mol-ecule features a three-rung-staircase Sn(4)O(4) core in which two independent Sn(IV) atoms are bridged by the triazolide group. The negatively charged N atom of the triazolide group binds to the terminal Sn atom at a shorter distance [Sn-N = 2.262?(3), 2.254?(3)?Å] compared with the neutral N atom that binds to the central Sn atom[SnN = 2.617?(4); 2.830?(3)?Å]. The oxide O atom is three-coordinate whereas the methano-late O atom is two-coordinate. The terminal Sn atom is five-coordinate in a cis-C(3)SnNO trigonal-bipyramidal environment, whereas the central Sn atom is six-coordinate in a C(2)SnNO(3) skew-trapezoidal-bipyramidal geometry.
