The Ni(II) ion of each unique complex mol-ecule lies on an inversion centre and has an octa-hedral coordination geometry. The crystal structure features weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which form chains running parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(0.31)Ni(0.69)(C(5)H(7)O(2))(2)], was isolated from the reaction of bis-(N,N-dimethyamino-ethanol)copper(II) with bis-(acetyl-acetonato)nickel(II), which yielded crystals with mixed sites at the central metal position; the refined copper-nickel occupancy ratio is 0.31?(4):0.69?(4). Two acetyl-acetonate ligands, related by a centre of symmetry, are coordinated to the central metal atom in a square-planar configuration while the methyne C atoms of the acetyl-acetonate ligands, ca 3.02?Å away, are orthogonal to this plane at the metal site.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(7)O(2))(C(2)N(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, the Cu(II) atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry with two acetyl-acetonate O and two phenanthroline N atoms forming the base. The apical position is occupied by the central N atom of the dicyanamide ligand. The dicyanamide N atoms are each involved in hydrogen bonds to water mol-ecules. There are also hydrogen bonds between both the water mol-ecules and their centrosymmetric pairs, creating a hydrogen-bonded chain along the b-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(2)Cl(3)O(2))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], was prepared by the reaction of pyridine and trichloro-acetatonickel(II) in ethanol solution at room temperature. The Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination made up of four N atoms of the pyridine ligands and two O atoms of trichloro-acetate anions. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ni(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(8)H(5)O(3))(2)·2H(2)O, contains one-half of the complex cation with the Ni(II) atom located on an inversion center, a 4-formyl-benzoate (FB) counter-anion and an uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement and the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the isonicotinamide (INA) ligands at a sligthly longer distance in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 8.14?(11)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 3.46?(6)°. In the crystal structure, O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. ?-? Contacts between the benzene and pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.751?(1)?Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate, guanidine (G) and 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (hypydcH(2)) in a 1:2:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution resulted in the formation of the title compound, (CH(6)N(3))(2)[Ni(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(2)]·2H(2)O or (GH)(2)[Ni(hypydc)(2)]·2H(2)O. The six donor atoms of the two 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate or (hypydc)(2-) ligands form a distorted octa-hedral arrangement around the Ni(II) centre. Considerable C-O?? stacking inter-actions between the CO groups of carboxyl-ate fragments and the pyridine rings of (hypydc)(2-) with a distance of 3.3212?(8)?Å are observed. In the crystal structure, a wide range of noncovalent inter-actions consisting of hydrogen bonding (of the types O-H?O and N-H?O), ion pairing, and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance 3.8037?(5)?Å], N-H?? and C-O?? stacking inter-actions connect the various components into a supra-molecular structure.

The asymmetric unit consists of one Co(2+) cation, which is located on a center of inversion, as well as one seleno-cyanate anion, one 3-acetyl-pyridine ligand and one water mol-ecule in general positions. Whereas one of the water H atoms makes a classical O-H?O hydrogen bond, the other shows a O-H?Se inter-action.
