Bis(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)ammonium nitrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C12H14N3 (+)·NO3 (-), the mononitrate of protonated bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine, the least-squares planes defined by the non-H atoms of the two aromatic moieties inter-sect at an angle of 7.91?(6)°. In the crystal, N-H?N, N-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds, as well as C-H?O contacts, connect the entities into a three-dimensional network. The shortest centroid-centroid distance between two aromatic systems is 3.7255?(8)?Å and is apparent between the two different aromatic moieties.

Project description:In the title molecular salt, C12H14N3 (+)·NH4 (+)·2Cl(-), the central, secondary-amine, N atom is protonated. The bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]ammonium and ammonium cations both lie across a twofold rotation axis. The dihedral angles between the planes of the pyridine rings is 68.43 (8)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯N and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the components of the structure, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (010). In addition, weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds exist within the two-dimensional network.

Project description:The pyridine rings of the title compound, C(18)H(23)N(3), are in a nearly perpendicular orientation relative to the plane defined by the three amino-bonded C atoms, making dihedral angles of 87.4 (1) ° and 84.2 (1) °. One of the pyridine N atoms acts as an hydrogen-bond acceptor for two pyridine C-H groups. By means of these intermolecular hydrogen bonds, the mol-ecules form a two-dimensional network parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:In the binuclear title compound, [Ag(2)(C(11)H(11)N(3))(2)](CF(3)O(3)S)(2), the complex cation is centrosymmetric, with the unique Ag(+) cation coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related N-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine ligands in a geometry slightly distorted from linear [N-Ag-N 161.02?(7)°]. This set-up leads to the formation of a 14-membered cyclic dimer. The two pyridine rings coordinated to the Ag(+) cation are tilted by 80.19?(7)° with respect to each other. Inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the cyclic dimer and the anion exist. A two-dimensional network parallel to the ac plane is constructed by three weak Ag?(O,N) inter-actions as well as an F?F contact of 2.890?(4)?Å.

Project description:The title salt, C18H26N42+·2Cl-, was obtained by the protonation of N,N-bis-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)cyclo-hexane-1,4-di-amine with hydro-chloric acid in ethanol. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of an N,N-bis-(pyridin-3-ylmeth-yl)cyclo-hexane-1,4-di-ammonium dication, with a crystallographic inversion centre located at the centre of the cyclo-hexyl ring, and a chloride anion. The central cyclo-hexyl ring in the dication adopts a chair conformation. The two trans-(4-pyridine)-CH2-NH2- moieties at the 1- and 4-positions of the central cyclo-hexyl ring occupy equatorial sites. The terminal pyridine ring is tilted by 53.72 (6)° with respect to the mean plane of the central cyclo-hexyl ring (r.m.s. deviation = 0.2413 Å). In the crystal, N+-H⋯Cl- hydrogen bonds between the dications and the chloride anions, and π-π stacking inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the dications afford a two-dimensional sheet extending parallel to the ab plane. These sheets are further connected through weak C-H⋯Cl- hydrogen bonds, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:Treatment of N,N-bis-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)cyclo-hexane-1,4-di-amine with hydro-chloric acid in ethanol led to the formation of the title salt, C18H26N42+·2Cl-·2H2O, which lies about a crystallographic inversion center at the center of the cyclo-hexyl ring. The asymmetric unit therefore comprises one half of the N,N-bis-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)cyclo-hexane-1,4-di-ammonium dication, a chloride anion, and a solvent water mol-ecule. In the dication, the two trans-(4-pyridine)-CH2-NH2- moieties occupy equatorial sites at the 1- and 4-positions of the central cyclo-hexyl ring, which is in a chair conformation. The terminal pyridine ring is tilted by 27.98 (5)° with respect to the mean plane of the central cyclo-hexyl moiety (r.m.s. deviation = 0.2379 Å). In the crystal, dications, anions, and solvent water mol-ecules are connected via N/C/O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds together with C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(11)N(3), crystallizes with two mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. The geometries of both mol-ecules are very similar, with the exception of the torsion angles of the inter-ring chains; the values for C-N-C-C are 67.4?(5) and -69.3?(5)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. The dihedral angles between the pyridyl ring planes are 84.0?(2) and 83.2?(2)° for mol-ecules A and B, respectively. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions contribute to the stabilization of the packing.
