ABSTRACT: The title compound, C23H24FN3O, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules (I and II) in the asymmetric unit. These pairs of mol-ecules are linked to each other as N-H?O dimers with an R 2 (2)(10) motif. Furthermore, the crystal structure also exhibits C-H?? inter-actions. The atoms of the ethyl group in mol-ecule I are disordered over two sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.817?(6):0.183?(6).

Project description:In the title compound, C24H26FN3O, the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation; the propyl substituent is in an equatorial orientation and the bond-angle sum at the C atom bonded to the carbohydrazide N atom is 360.0°. The dihedral angle between the 1H-indole ring system and the phenyl ring is 82.77?(13)°. A weak intra-molecular C-H?? contact occurs. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules related by a crystallographic twofold axis are linked by bifurcated N-H?(O,N) hydrogen bonds; a C-H?O inter-action occurs between the same pair. The dimers are linked by C-H?F and C-H?? inter-actions, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C14H12FN3O, adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine bond. The pyridyl and fluoro-benzene rings make dihedral angles of 38.58?(6) and 41.61?(5)° respectively with the central C(=O)N2CC unit, resulting in a non-planar mol-ecule. The inter-molecular inter-actions comprise two classical N-H?O and N-H?N hydrogen bonds and four non-classical C-H?O and C-H?F hydrogen bonds. These inter-actions are augmented by a weak ?-? inter-action between the benzene and pyridyl rings of neighbouring mol-ecules, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.9226?(10)?Å. This leads to a three-dimensional supra-molecular assembly in the crystal system. The F atom is disordered over two sites in a 0.559?(3): 0.441?(3) ratio, through a 180° rotation of the fluoro-benzene ring.

Project description:The title compound, C14H12FN3O, adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine double bond whereas the N and methyl C atoms are in a Z conformation with respect to the same bond. The ketonic O and azomethine N atoms are cis to each other. The non-planar mol-ecule [the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 7.44 (11)°] exists in an amido form with a C=O bond length of 1.221 (2) Å. In the crystal, a bifurcated N-H⋯(O,N) hydrogen bond is formed between the amide H atom and the keto O and imine N atoms of an adjacent mol-ecule, leading to the formation of chains propagating along the b-axis direction. Through a 180° rotation of the fluoro-phenyl ring, the F atom is disordered over two sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.632 (4):0.368 (4).

Project description:The Sn(IV) atom in the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(C(14)H(19)N(4)S)Cl(2)], exists within a distorted octa-hedral geometry defined by the N,N',S-tridentate monodeprotonated Schiff base ligand, two mutually trans Cl atoms, and the ipso-C atom of the Sn-bound phenyl group; the latter is trans to the azo-N atom. The greatest distortion from the ideal geometry is found in the nominally trans angle formed by the S and pyridyl-N atoms at Sn [151.03?(4)°]. With the exception of the cyclo-hexyl group (chair form), the Schiff base ligand is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation of non-H and Sn atoms = 0.053?Å). The nearly orthogonal orientation of the Sn-bound phenyl group [N-Sn-C-C torsion angle = 70.8?(5)°] to the planar portion of the Schiff base allows for the formation of significant intra-molecular C-H?Cl inter-actions which preclude the Cl atoms from participating in N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Instead, C-H?? contacts, involving methyl-ene H and the Sn-bound phenyl group, lead to the formation of supra-molecular chains that pack in the bc plane. Connections between these layers are of the type C-H?Cl.
