4-Meth-oxy-N-[(4-methyl-phen-yl)sulfon-yl]benzamide including an unknown solvate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C15H15NO4S, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 78.62?(16)°. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked along the c axis into C(4) chains through strong N-H?O hydrogen bonds. Mol-ecules are further connected through C-H?O hydrogen bonds into a hexa-meric unit generating an R (6) 6(66) motif. Another C-H?O inter-action connects the mol-ecules along the c axis, forming C(5) chains. A region of disordered electron density, most probably disordered methanol-water solvent mol-ecules, was treated with the SQUEEZE routine in PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. The formula mass and unit-cell characteristics do not take into account this disordered solvent.

Project description:The title compound, C14H12ClNO4S, crystallizes with two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings are 89.68?(1) (mol-ecule 1) and 82.9?(1)° (mol-ecule 2). In each mol-ecule, intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the amide H atom and the meth-oxy O atom generate S(6) loops. In the crystal, mol-ecule 2 is linked into inversion dimers through pairs of C-H?O inter-actions, forming an R 2 (2)(8) ring motif. Mol-ecules 1 and 2 are further linked along the b-axis direction through C-H?? inter-actions. The crystal structure is further stabilized by several ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid separations = 3.7793?(1), 3.6697?(1) and 3.6958?(1)?Å], thus generating a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(26)H(30)O(9)S(3), adopts an extended conformation whereby two approximately parallel benzene rings [dihedral angle = 8.32?(10)°] are orientated in opposite directions along the pseudo-threefold axis through the central quaternary C atom, while a third ring occupies a position mid-way and face-on to these rings [dihedral angles = 82.28?(10) and 78.81?(7)°]. The crystal packing is dominated by C-H?O contacts and ?-? inter-actions [ring centroid distance = 3.6902?(12)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(12)O(7)P(2)·CH(4)O, is a monoesterified bis-phospho-nate (or 1-hydroxy-methyl-ene-1,1-bis-phospho-nic acid). These synthetic compounds are widely used in medicine to inhibit bone resorption in diseases like osteoporosis, and are characterized by a stable P-C-P group and are thus analogs of inorganic pyrophosphate. By masking one or several ionizable groups, introduced as phosphono-ester, it was anti-cipated the formation of prodrugs with higher lipophilicity that could facilitate the drug delivery and metabolization. Mol-ecules are paired by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the phospho-nic groups. In addition, dimers are connected side-by-side, building infinite ribbons along the a-axis direction; these ribbons are cross-linked perpendicularly along the b-axis direction via a methanol solvent mol-ecule (disordered over two sites with occupancy factors ca 0.6 and 0.4), forming an extended inter-molecular hydrogen-bonded network. The H atoms of the methyl group in the main molecule are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:In the title compound, C18H20Cl2N2O2S, the piperazine ring adopts a chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the sulfonyl-bound benzene ring and the best-fit plane through the six non-H atoms of the piperazine ring is 72.22?(12)°; those between the di-chloro-benzene ring and the sulfonyl and piperazine rings are 2.44?(13) and 74.16?(2)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected through weak C-H?O inter-actions into a hexa-meric unit generating a R 6 (6)(60) motif in the ab plane. The mol-ecules are also connected into C(4) chains through weak C-H?N inter-actions. The solvent used to grow the crystal was a mixture of di-chloro-methane and methanol, but the resulting electron density was uninter-pretable. The solvent contribution to the scattering was removed with the SQUEEZE routine in PLATON [Spek (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]. The formula mass and unit-cell characteristics do not take into account the disordered solvent.

Project description:In the title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)O(5), the central amide C-C(=O)-N-C unit forms dihedral angles of 28.17?(13) and 26.47?(13)° with the two benzene rings, whereas the two benzene rings are almost coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 4.52?(13)°. The two meth-oxy and the nitro substituents are almost coplanar with their attached benzene rings, with C-O-C-C torsion angles of -1.3?(4) and -4.6?(4)°, and an O-N-C-C torsion angle of 17.1?(3)°. The O-C-C-C torsion angle for the central chain is -59.22 (16)° and the dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene rings is 75.20 (7)°. In the crystal, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯S inter-actions link the mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional network encompassing channels running parallel to the c axis, which account for about 20% of the unit-cell volume. The contribution to the scattering from the highly disordered solvent mol-ecules in these channels was removed with the SQUEEZE routine [Spek (2015). Acta Cryst. C71, 9-18] in PLATON. The stated crystal data for M r, μ etc. do not take these into account.

Project description:In the title compound, C(14)H(12)ClNO(2), the chloro- and meth-oxy-substituted benzene rings are close to orthogonal [dihedral angle = 79.20?(3)°]. These rings also make angles of 45.9?(3) and 33.5?(3)° with the amide -CONH- unit. The meth-oxy substituent lies close to the meth-oxy-benzene ring plane, with a maximum deviation of 0.142?(3)?Å for the methyl C atom. The N-H bond is anti to the 2-chloro substituent of the aniline ring. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds form C(4) chains augmented by a weak C-H?O inter-action involving an ortho H atom of the meth-oxy benzene ring that generates an R(2) (1)(6) motif. The chains stack the mol-ecules into columns down the b axis. Adjacent columns are linked by additional C-H?O and C-H?? contacts, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(19)NO(3), the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 68.0 (1)°. The C-O-C-C torsion angle of the atoms joining these rings is 179.7 (2)°. The atoms of the methanol group were refined as disordered over two sets of sites with fixed occupancies of 0.86 and 0.14. The H atoms of the hy-droxy group in the major component are disordered over a further two sets of sites with equal occupancies. This is a necessary arrangement to allow for hydrogen bonding without unrealistic H⋯H contacts. In the crystal, O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules into chains along [001].
