The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the quinoline and benzene rings are 78.3?(4) and 88.2?(3)°. The carboxyl-ate group is twisted slightly from the quinoline ring by 7.1?(2) and 13.3?(4)°, respectively. In the crystal, weak C-H?O inter-actions are observed. Project description:In the title compound, C25H23NO4, the pyran ring of the chroman moiety has an envelope conformation with the methyl-ene C atom as the flap. The isoxazole ring has a twist conformation on the O-C bond. The dihedral angle between their mean planes is 57.87?(9)°. The attached phenyl and benzene rings are twisted away from its mean plane by 56.19?(10) and 50.57?(10)°, respectively. These two rings are normal to each other, subtending a dihedral angle of 89.2?(1)°. In the crystal, there are no classical hydrogen bonds; the mol-ecules are linked via C-H?? inter-actions, forming a two-dimensional network lying parallel to (10-1).

Project description:The title compound, C12H11NO3, is an inter-mediate used in the synthesis of many drug-like mol-ecules. The mol-ecule is almost planar, with the phenyl ring inclined to the isoxazole ring by 0.5 (1)°. The ester moiety has an extended conformation and is almost in the same plane with respect to the isoxazole ring, as indicated by the O-C-C-N torsion angle of -172.86 (18)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via pairs of C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the same acceptor atom, forming inversion dimers with two R21(7) ring motifs. The mol-ecules stack in layers lying parallel to (10-3). Analysis using Hirshfeld surface generation and two-dimensional fingerprint plots explores the distribution of weak inter-molecular inter-actions in the crystal structure.
