ABSTRACT: In the title hydrated salt, [NiCl(C10H8N2)2](NO3)·3H2O, the Ni(2+) ion is coordinated by two 2,2'-bipyridyl (2,2'-bpy) ligands and a chloride ion in a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The chloride ion occupies an equatorial site and the dihedral angle between the 2,2'-bpy ring systems is 72.02?(6)°. In the crystal, the components are linked by C-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds and aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions [shortest centroid-centroid separation = 3.635?(2)?Å], generating a three-dimensional network.

In the title hydrated salt, [NiCl(C10H8N2)2](NO3)·3H2O, the Ni(2+) ion is coordinated by two 2,2'-bipyridyl (2,2'-bpy) ligands and a chloride ion in a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Project description:In title complex, [Mn(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Mn(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry by six N atoms. Four of the N atoms are from two chelating bipyridine ligands and two are from a pair of cis-coordinated dicyanamide ligands. The dihedral angle formed by the mean planes of the bipyridine rings is 85.93?(14)°. The central N atom of one of the dicyanamide ligands was refined as disordered over two sites with equal occupancies.

The crystal packing is stabilized by hydrogen bonding formed between chloride ions and adjacent water mol-ecules. Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))]·2H(2)O, a novel tricyano-methanide complex, the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two 2,2'-bipyridyl dioxide (dpdo) mol-ecules and two trans tricyano-methanide (tcm) anions. The equatorial plane is formed by the four O atoms of the two chelating dpdo ligands, with one N atom of each of the two tcm ligands occupying an apical position. There is a disordered solvent water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit (occupancy ratio 0.63:0.37). These water mol-ecules result in the formation of O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, building a layer parallel to (100). The layers are linked by C-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO·H(2)O, contains doubly charged centrosymmetric dinuclear oxalato-bridged copper(II) complex cations, perchlorate anions, and DMF and water solvate mol-ecules. In the complex cation, the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis-bidentate bridging mode to the Cu atoms. Each Cu atom has a distorted tetra-gonal-bipyramidal environment, being coordinated by two N atoms of the two chelating bipy ligands and two O atoms of the doubly deprotonated oxalate anion. Pairs of perchlorate anions and water mol-ecules are linked into recta-ngles by O-H⋯O bonds in which the perchlorate O atoms act as acceptors and the water mol-ecules as donors. Methyl groups of the DMF solvent molecule are disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.453 (7):0.547 (7), and the water molecule is half-occupied.

Project description:The title compound, [Cd(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·CH(3)OH, contains one monomeric seven-coordinate cadmium complex and one methanol solvate mol-ecule. The Cd(II) atom is coordinated to two 2,2'-bipyridyl ligands via the N atoms and to two salicylate anions (Hsal(-)) via the carboxyl-ate O atoms, which act as monodentate ligand for the one and bidentate ligand for the second. The Cd(II) atom exhibits a {6 + 1} environment, approximately described as a distorted capped octa-hedron with the apical positions occupied by one of the two N atoms belonging to one bipyridyl ligand and one of the two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. Two intra-molecular six-membered hydrogen-bonded rings are present, generated from inter-actions between the carboxyl-ate and hydr-oxy groups of the salicylate ligands. There is one inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-action involving the methanol solvent mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate group from the monodentate Hsal(-) ligand. The crystal packing is governed by ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.783?(4)?Å] which occur between bipyridyl ligands, by C-H?O and C-H?? inter-actions and by numerous van der Waals contacts.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(SO(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·C(2)H(6)O(2), is a six-coordinate zinc(II) complex with a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The Zn(II) atom is bonded by two O atoms of the bidentate chelating sulfate ligand and four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands. The Zn-N bond distances range from 2.1287 (17) to 2.1452 (17) Å and the Zn-O bond distance is 2.1811 (15) Å. The two chelating NCCN groups subtend a dihedral angle of 81.1 (1)°. In the crystal structure, the [ZnSO(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)] and C(2)H(6)O(2) units are connected by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, which leads to additional stabilization of the structure.
