Tri-benzyl-ammonium chloride.

ABSTRACT: Single crystals of the title salt, C21H21NH(+)·Cl(-), were isolated as a side product from the reaction involving [(C6H5CH2)3NH]2[HPO4] and Sn(CH3)3Cl in ethanol. Both the cation and the anion are situated on a threefold rotation axis. The central N atom in the cation has a slightly distorted tetra-hedral environment, with angles ranging from 107.7 to 111.16?(10)°. In the crystal, the tri-benzyl-ammonium cations and chloride anions are linked through N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of infinite chains along [001]. The crystal studied was a merohedral twin.

The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, which link the mol-ecules into tetra-mers about inversion centers.

Reproductive toxicity assessment of alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride and didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride in CD® rats.

Project description:AimTo determine the potential of alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride (ADBAC) and didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (DDAC) to induce reproductive toxicity in CD® rats in two independent 2-generation reproduction studies conducted according to Good Laboratory Practices and standardized testing guidelines.Materials and methodsMale and female rats (parents and offspring) were allowed continual free access to diets containing concentrations of ADBAC (0, 300, 1,000, or 2,000 ppm) or DDAC (0, 300, 750, or 1,500 ppm), beginning with F0 generation adults at 10 weeks prior to breeding.ResultsNo clinical signs of toxicity were observed in parental rats or their offspring in either study. Dietary exposure of parental rats to ADBAC or DDAC at the highest concentrations produced transient decreases in body weight and/or body weight changes with no or minimal corresponding reduction in food consumption. Offspring (F1 and F2 ) in the highest concentration group in each study also exhibited reduced body weights, often with a corresponding reduction in weight change, beginning on postnatal day (PND) 14 through weaning on PND 28. This reduction in pup body weight corresponded to initiation of self-feeding.ConclusionsBased on reduced body weights, the no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) for adult and offspring systemic toxicity was 1,000 ppm for ADBAC and 750 ppm for DDAC (equivalent to approximate daily oral doses of 59 and 45 mg/kg/day, respectively). The reproductive and developmental NOAEL for F0 , F1 , and F2 generation male and female rats was 2,000 ppm for ADBAC and 1,500 ppm for DDAC (equivalent to approximate daily oral doses of 118 and 91 mg/kg/day, respectively).

Crystal structure of benzyl-tri-phenyl-phospho-nium chloride monohydrate.

Project description:The title compound, Ph3(PhCH2)P(+)·Cl(-)·H2O, was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted synthesis of a silver di-thio-carbamate complex using benzyl-tri-phenyl-phospho-nium as the counter-ion. The asymmetric unit consists of a phospho-nium cation and a chloride anion, and a water mol-ecule of crystallization. In the crystal, the chloride ion is linked to the water mol-ecule by an O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond. The three units are further linked via C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯ π inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The title salt, C20H26N3O2(+)·Cl(-), lies across a twofold crystallographic axis with the central N atom of the cation and the chloride anion sitting on this axis, Z' = 0.5. There is an intra-molecular hydrogen bond between the hy-droxy H atom and the imino N atom. The chloride anion and the cation are connected into chains along the a axis by an N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the chains are linked via C-H⋯Cl interactions forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to (101).

Crystal structure of N,N,N-tri-ethyl-hydroxyl-ammonium chloride.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C6H16NO+·Cl-, two of the C-C-N-O groups in the cation adopt a gauche conformation [torsion angles = 62.86 (11) and -54.95 (13)°] and one an anti conformation [-177.82 (10)°. The cation and anion are linked by an O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bond. The extended structure displays C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, resulting in layers lying parallel to the (100) plane: further C-H⋯Cl contacts connect the sheets into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title 1:1 stoichiometric salt, C7H10N(+)·C7H13O2 (-), is formed by proton transfer between hepta-noic acid and benzyl-amine. This combination contrasts to the recently published 2:1 acid-amine adduct of cation, anion and neutral acid molecule from the same components [Wood & Clarke (2013 ?). Acta Cryst. E69, o346-o347]. There are N-H?O hydrogen bonds of moderate strength in the structure [the most important graph-set motifs are R (2) 4(8) and R (4) 4(12)], as well as weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Benzyl-ammonium hexa-noate.

Project description:A binary mixture of benzyl-amine and hexa-noic acid has been reacted to form the title salt, C(7)H(10)N(+)·C(6)H(11)O(2) (-). This crystal has a 1:1 stoichiometry of acid- and amine-derived species which contrasts with other related species which can have a number of other integer ratios of acid and amine components. The diffraction data indicate complete transfer of a proton from the acid to the amine to give the salt, comprising a cation and anion combination, with the formation of three hydrogen bonds around each ammonium group. This contrasts with other related species.

Tri-phenyl-tellurium chloride.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C18H15ClTe, contains two mol-ecules which are in inverted orientations. The compound displays a tetra-hedral geometry around the Te atom in spite of there being five electron domains. This is attributed to the fact that the lone pair is not sterically active. The dihedral angles between the three phenyl rings are 76.51 (16)/73.75 (16)/71.06 (17) and 78.60 (17)/77.67 (16)/79.11 (16)° in the two mol-ecules. The crystal packing features eight C-H⋯π inter-actions.
