Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C12H9N2)2[ZnCl4]·H2O, the two independent 1,10-phenanthrolinium cations are bridged by the water mol-ecule and the tetrahedral tetrachloridozincate anion via N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [100]. The chains are linked via C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds and a number of π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances vary from 3.5594 (14) to 3.7057 (13) Å], forming a three-dimensional network. In each 1,10-phenanthrolinium cation, there is a short N-H⋯N inter-action.

Project description:The structure of the centrosymmetric title compound, [Cu(2)Cl(6)(C(10)H(15)N(4))(2)]·2H(2)O, consists of a dimeric [{(HMe(4)bpz)CuCl(3)}(2)] unit (HMe(4)bpz is 3,3',5,5'-tetra-methyl-4,4'-bipyrazol-1-ium) with two solvent water molecules. Each [HMe(4)bpz](+) cation is bonded to a CuCl(3) unit through a Cu-N dative bond, effectively making square-planar geometry at the Cu atom. Two of these units then undergo a face-to-face dimerization so that the Cu atoms have a Jahn-Teller distorted square-pyramidal geometry with three chlorides and an N atom in the basal plane and one chloride weakly bound in the apical position. Several N-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric title compound, [Co(C4H11N2)2(H2O)4](SO4)2·2H2O, the Co(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four water O atoms and two piperazinium N atoms. These four water O atoms define an equatorial plane with a maximum deviation of 0.0384 (1) Å while the two piperazinium N atoms complete the octa-hedron in the axial positions. Neighboring complex mol-ecules and sulfate anions are connected through an extensive network of N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which link the different chemical species into layers in the ab plane. Additional Owater-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the non-coordinating water mol-ecules and C-H⋯O inter-actions connect these layers into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, (C12H15N2)2[ZnCl4], is a salt with two symmetrically independent, essentially planar heterocyclic cations and a slightly distorted tetra-hedral chloro-zincate dianion. N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link these ionic constituents into a discrete aggregate, which comprises one formula unit. The effect of hydrogen bonding is reflected in the minor distortions of the [ZnCl4]2- moiety: distances between the cation and chlorido ligands engaged in classical hydrogen bonds are significantly longer than the others. Secondary inter-actions comprise C-H⋯π hydrogen bonding and weak π-π stacking. A Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the most abundant contacts in packing stem from H⋯H (47.8%) and Cl⋯H/H⋯Cl (29.3%) inter-actions.
