ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C16H17NO2S, the heterocyclic ring adopts a half-chair conformation and the bond-angle sum at the N atom is 350.2°. The dihedral angle between the planes of the aromatic rings is 47.74?(10)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H?O hydrogen bonds to generate [010] chains.

Project description:The title compound, C(21)H(18)ClN, was synthesized by an enanti-oselective Brønsted acid-catalysed transfer hydrogenation reaction. The six-membered heterocycle adopts a half-chair conformation. It has the biphenyl residue in an axial position. The two rings of the biphenyl residue are almost coplanar [dihedral angle = 2.65?(9)°]. The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, which connect the mol-ecules into chains running along the a axis.

Project description:In the title compound, C10H11NO2, two independent but virtually superimposable mol-ecules, A and B, comprise the asymmetric unit. The heterocyclic ring in each mol-ecule has a screw-boat conformation, and the methyl-hydroxyl group occupies a position to one side of this ring with N-C-C-O torsion angles of -55.30 (15) (mol-ecule A) and -55.94 (16)° (mol-ecule B). In the crystal, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding leads to 11-membered {⋯HNCO⋯HO⋯HNC2O} heterosynthons, involving three different mol-ecules, which are edge-shared to generate a supra-molecular chain along the a axis. Inter-actions of the type C-H⋯O provide additional stability to the chains, and link these into a three-dimensional architecture.

Project description:Two new heterocyclic 1,2,3-triazenes were synthesized by diazo-tation of 3-amino-pyridine following respectively by coupling with morpholine or 1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-quinoline. 4-[(Pyridin-3-yl)diazen-yl]morpholine (I), C9H12N4O, has monoclinic P21/c symmetry at 100 K, while 1-[(pyridin-3-yl)diazen-yl]-1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-quinoline (II), C14H14N4, has monoclinic P21/n symmetry at 100 K. These 1,2,3-triazene derivatives were synthesized by the organic medium method by coupling reactions of 3-amino-pyridine with morpholine and 1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-quinoline, respectively, and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The mol-ecule of compound I consists of pyridine and morpholine rings connected by an azo moiety (-N=N-). In the mol-ecule of II, the pyridine ring and the 1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-quinoline unit are also connected by an azo moiety. The double- and single-bond distances in the triazene chain are comparable for the two compounds. In both crystal structures, the mol-ecules are connected by C-H⋯N inter-actions, forming infinite chains for I and layers parallel to the bc plane for II.

Project description:In the title compound, C35H31N3O5S, the piperidine ring adopts an envelope conformation, with the methine C atom as the flap, and the pyran ring adopts a sofa conformation. The mean planes of these two rings are almost normal to one another, making a dihedral angle of 85.96?(5)°. The two phenyl rings, one attached to the pyrazole ring and the other to the pyran ring, are inclined to one another by 65.41?(11)°. They are inclined to the mean planes of the rings to which they are attached by 12.59?(11) and 70.09?(9)°, respectively. There is an intra-molecular C-H?? inter-action involving the tosyl-ate methyl group and the phenyl ring attached to the pyrazole ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H?? inter-actions, forming ribbons parallel to (10-2). The ribbons are linked by slipped parallel ?-? inter-actions involving inversion-related pyrazole rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.672?(2)?Å], forming slabs parallel to (001).
