Descriptions of new species of the genera Sarima Melichar and Sarimodes Matsumura from southern China (Hemiptera, Fulgoromorpha, Issidae).

ABSTRACT: Two Issini genera, Sarima Melichar, 1903 and Sarimodes Matsumura, 1916, are examined. One new Sarima species: Sarima bifurcus sp. n. and two new Sarimodes species Sarimodes clavatus sp. n. and Sarimodes parallelus sp. n. are added from South China. A checklist of species in the genus Sarima with data on distribution is provided. The distribution and morphological peculiarities of the genera Sarima and Sarimodes are briefly discussed.

Two new species, V.bambusana sp. n. and V.pentaprocessusa sp. n., are described and illustrated from the southwest of China to give the genus twenty-nine species in China. Project description:Two new species of genus Oecleopsis Emeljanov, 1971, O. laminatus Zhi & Chen, sp. n. and O. productus Zhi & Chen, sp. n., and a new record, O. yoshikawai (Ishihara, 1961), are described and illustrated from China. Female genitalia of five species within this genus are compared morphologically: O. laminatus Zhi & Chen, sp. n., O. mori (Matsumura, 1914), O. productus Zhi & Chen, sp. n., O. sinicus (Jacobi, 1944) and O. yoshikawai (Ishihara, 1961). A key to five Chinese species based on female genitalia, and a key to all known species of Oecleopsis based on male genitalia, are provided.

Taxonomic study of the genus Neocarpia Tsaur & Hsu, with descriptions of two new species from China (Hemiptera, Fulgoromorpha, Cixiidae).

Project description:The cixiid planthoppers genus Neocarpia Tsaur & Hsu, 2003 is reviewed. Two new species, N. acutata Zhi & Chen, sp. n. and N. reversa Zhi & Chen, sp. n., are described and illustrated from the southwest of China (Yunnan) to give the genus seven species in total. Female genitalia of four Chinese species are described and illustrated for the first time. A key to all known species of Neocarpia based on male genitalia, and a key to Chinese species (except for N. maai) based on female genitalia, are provided. The morphological characteristics of the posterior vagina, utilized to distinguish female species of Neocarpia, are also discussed.

The female genitalia of three species are described and illustrated for the first time. A key to all known species of Tsauria based on male genitalia, and a key to three species (except for T.major) based on female genitalia, are provided.

The females of two other species of Kuvera, K.laticeps (Metcalf, 1936) and K.ussuriensis (Vilbaste, 1968), are described for the first time. An updated identification key to Chinese species of Kuvera is given.
