In Vivo Model of Small Intestine.

ABSTRACT: The utilization of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) offers new avenues in the generation of organs and opportunities to understand development and diseases. The hPSC-derived human intestinal organoids (HIOs) provide a new tool to gain insights in small intestinal development, physiology, and associated diseases. Herein, we provide a method for orthotropic transplantation of HIOs in immunocompromised mice. This method highlights the specific steps to successful engraftment and provides insight into the study of bioengineered human small intestine.
