Tris(?2-methano-lato)-?3-oxido-tris-{[(E)-4-chloro-2-({[2-(pyridin-2-yl)eth-yl]imino}-meth-yl)pheno-lato]manganese(III)} perchlorate-di-chloro-methane-diethyl ether (1/1.1/0.9).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Mn3(C14H12ClN2O)3(CH3O)3O]ClO4·1.1CH2Cl2·0.9C4H10O, the cation consists of a central Mn3O core with ?2-methano-late bridging between adjacent MnIII atoms, thus giving each MnIII atom a mer-O3 coordination environment. Six-coordination for each MnIII atom is provided by the deprotonated Schiff base ligand (E)-4-chloro-2-({[2-(pyridin-2-yl)eth-yl]imino}-meth-yl)phenolate. There are extensive C-H?O and C-H?Cl inter-actions, which link the cations, anions, and solvent mol-ecules into a three-dimensional array.

Three of the four bridging O atoms of the cube carry a fluorinated tert-butyl residue, whereas the fourth is part of an acetone mol-ecule. Two of the Li atoms are further bonded to a non-bridging acetone mol-ecule. Two of the lithium ion coordination geometries are very distorted LiO(4) tetra-hedra; the third could be described as a very distorted LiO(3) T-shape with two distant F-atom neighbours. The V(V) atom is six-coordinated by the N,N,O-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom, one methanol O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The methanol O atom lies trans to the V=O group. The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system is 31.52 (10)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds occur.
