Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) presents as either primary valve pathology or secondary to pulmonary or left-sided heart disease. Severe TR portends a worse prognosis independent of age, right ventricular size and function, severe left ventricular dysfunction, and increased pulmonary arterial pressures.
