The enteropathogenic and enterohemorrhagic <i>Escherichia coli</i> NleB proteins as well as the <i>Salmonella enterica</i> SseK proteins are type III secretion system effectors that function as glycosyltransferase enzymes to post-translationally modify host substrates on arginine residues.
