Chemotherapy Via an Implantable Pump Compared With a Subcutaneous Port for Unresectable Liver Metastases in Patients With Resected Colorectal Cancer

ABSTRACT: RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug or giving the drugs in different ways may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of chemotherapy administered via an implantable pump with a subcutaneous port for unresectable liver metastases in patients with resected primary colorectal cancer.
