Probiotic Therapy in Preventing Gastrointestinal Complications in Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy and Pelvic Radiation Therapy


ABSTRACT: RATIONALE: Probiotic therapy may reduce or prevent gastrointestinal complications in patients undergoing chemotherapy and pelvic radiation therapy. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well probiotic therapy works in preventing gastrointestinal complications in patients undergoing chemotherapy and pelvic radiation therapy.
