Project description:We obtained paired longitudinal specimens from a total of 38 glioblastoma (GBM) patients (34 primary and 4 secondary GBM patients). Treatment-naive initial tumors were available for 35 cases; for the other 3 cases, we used the first available recurrent tumors in lieu of initial tumors. Tumor specimens were subjected to whole-exome sequencing (27 of 38 cases, with the matched normal/blood for 22 of the 27 cases) and transcriptome sequencing (30 of 38 cases).

Oral Samples (HOMIM-v.02); A Characterization of the Oral Microbiome in Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant Patients

Project description:The purpose of this study is to describe the effects of allogeneic stem cell transplant on oral microbiota and to examine differences in those patients who acquired respiratory complications. Forty-five patients were consented for the study and followed for 100 days post-transplant. Eleven patients represented by 115 speciment had specimens collected before and after transplant were subjected to further analysis. The Human Oral Microbe Identification Microarray was used for this analysis. In these 11 patients, five developed respiraotry complications after transplant and six did not develop this complication. Cluster analysis was used to identify patterns in the data. 115 specimens are included from 11 patients. These specimens were collected before and after transplant. There are no duplicate samples.

Investigation of TOF patient heart specimens

Project description:The protein BBLN with largely unknown function was identified in human right ventricular heart specimens from patients undergoing repair surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). Proteins from heart specimens were solubilized and subjected to immuno-affinity enrichment with anti-CAMK2D-specific antibodies. Co-enriched proteins were separated by SDS-PAGE, and the protein band in the range of 8-14 kDa was cut and subjected to identification by nano-LC-ESI-MS/MS.
