Whole Exome and RNA sequencing of synchronous female bilateral breast cancers
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Synchronous bilateral breast cancer (sBBC) occurs after both breasts have been affected by the same germline genetics and environmental exposures. For a genome-scale molecular characterization of sBBC, we performed tumor-normal whole exome sequencing (WES) and tumor RNAseq on a cohort of 6 patients with sBBC who were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), including pre-NAC samples and post-NAC samples when there was residual disease. We also performed tumor-normal WES on a validation cohort of 7 patients with sBBC treated with front-line surgery.
