Effect of GMG-43-AC on hair follicles


ABSTRACT: In recent years, there is a growing interest in the role of PPARγ agonists in skin biology. Specifically, we have previously shown that agonistic PPARγ modulators affect hair follicle growth and function. PPARγ-mediated signalling has also been implicated in the regulation of mitochondrial energy metabolism in several tissues (adipose and brain), but how PPARγ-stimulation affects mitochondrial biology in the skin is still unknown. In this study, we aimed to explore the effects of PPARγ-stimulation in organ cultured human hair follicles.
