YB-1 knock.down - siRNA driven YBX1 knock.down in LNCaP cells in std FBS culture

ABSTRACT: The transcription factor and RNA-interacting Y-box binding protein-1 (YB-1 protein, YBX1 gene) has gained interest as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target in various malignancies including prostate cancer. Using a custom prostate-cancer-focussed microarray platform, we have established a transcriptome-wide profile of YB-1 target transcripts in the androgen sensitive prostate cancer cell line LNCaP.

Project description:YBX1 is a multifunctional protein involved in the control of transcription and translation. We identified YBX1 as an target of MEK/ERK signaling in colorectal cancer cell lines. We performed a ChIP-chip analysis of HCT116 cells to identify new potential target genes of YBX1. Comparison of input DNA fragments with fragments coprecipitated with YBX1 in HCT116 cells.
