Expression data from CD98hc null and wild type fibroblasts derived from embryonic stem cells
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: CD98 is a heterodimeric protein comprising heavy (CD98hc) and light chains (LAT1, LAT2, xCT, y+LAT1, y+LAT2 and asc1) that confer substrate specificity to the amino acid exchanger. CD98hc-associated transporters have two well stablished biochemical functions: They are able to promote integrin-dependent signals and also function as amino acid transporters. CD98hc is overexpressed in highly proliferative cells and its deletion causes strong impairment of cell proliferation in vivo and in vitro. We used RNA array to identify possible alterations that could take place in cells surviving loss of CD98hc which could lead to differently expressed gene sets.
