Budesonide induced transcriptional activity in control and Gs-knockdown human airway smooth muscle cells
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Budesonide alter cell function through gene expression changes that occur via activation of ubiquitously expressed intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. However, a number of recent studies suggest that budesonide also activate rapid alterations in various signaling processes that appear to be non-genomic in nature, and likely dependent on Gs. Here, we investigate the Gs dependent non-genomic transcriptional activity due to 24 hours of budesonide treatment.
