Transcriptional profiling of macrophages derived from young and aged injured nerves at 3 days post-injury
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Pro-regenerative macrophages are well known for their role in promoting tissue repair, however in aging macrophage numbers are reduced acutely and repair following nerve injury deminished. Macrophage-targeted RNAseq revealed that macrophages expressed an array of ligands post nerve injury, and several of these ligands are downregulated in aging.
