Comparative expression analysis of wild-type and OsC3'H1-knockout rice plant by RNA sequencing
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Knockout of a gene encoding p-coumaroyl ester 3-hydroxylase (OsC3'H1) leads to increase p-hydroxyphenyl (H) lignin aromatic composition in rice. We compared the global gene expression profiles of wild-type and OsC3'H1-knockout mutants by RNA sequencing to examine the possible effects of OsC3'H1 disruption on gene expression. We subsequently applied the up- and down-regulated gene sets to gene ontology term enrichment analysis. The results demonstrated that biotic stress-related gene expressions were elevated and, in contrast, photosynthesis-repated gene expression were depressed in the mutant compared with wild-type plants.
