Gene expression changes in cardiomyocytes from normal mice and diabetic, high fat diet-fed mice exposed to the DPP-4 inhibitor linagliptin

ABSTRACT: Cardiomyocytes were isolated from the hearts of C57BL/6 mice or C57BL/6 mice that had been fed a high fat diet for 26 weeks, receiving an intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin 12 weeks into the study. Cells were exposed to either linagliptin (9nmol/L) or vehicle (0.1% DMSO) for 24 hours before comparison of RNA levels by RNA-sequencing.
