Setdb1 is required for formation of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma by inhibiting p53-mediated apoptosis in mice
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Setdb1, a histone methyltransferase that trimethylates histone H3 on lysine 9, promotes tumorigenesis in various cancers. However, the functional role of Setdb1 in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma formation is still unknown. To reveal the role of Setdb1 in murine pancreata, we have employed whole genome microarray expression profiling of Ptf1aCre; KrasLSL-G12D; Setdb1flox/flox pancreata. We found that apoptotic signaling pathway is upregulated in Setdb1-deficient pancreata.
