Transcriptional profiles of male posterior amygdala

ABSTRACT: To investigate whether male MPN- and VMHvl-projecting neurons in posterior amygdala have distinct transcriptional profiles, we conducted RNAseq onto these subpoplations that were microdissected by laser capture microdissection. Our results demonstrate that each subpoplations had largely distinct set of enriched genes.

Project description:19 female mice of the C57BL/6J and B6D2F1N strains were housed in either standard (control) or enriched (including access to playgrounds) conditions. The animals were trained to perform a cognitive judgement bias test. Upon completion of training, the animals underwent the test paradigm and were sacrificed. Anterior and posterior portions of the amygdala were finally dissected for RNA-sequencing.

Project description:This study aims to identify and characterize miRNA expression inATLOs isolated by laser microdissection from human AAA biopsy samples. The aim of this study was to profile (with microarray technology) miRNAs in ATLOs (Adventitial tertiary lymphoid organs), isolated by laser capture microdissection (LCM). Smooth muscle cells (SMCs) isolated from control non-aneurysmal aortas were the control group according to which data were normalized. ATLOs were microdissected (mean 13.5mm2) from two different biopsy samples of human abdominal aortic aneurysm. An area enriched in smooth muscle cells was microdissected from two biopsy samples of non aneurysmal abdominal aortas. Each microdissected samples were analyzed independently on microarray.

Project description:This study aims to identify and characterize miRNA expression in aneurysmal smooth muscle cells (SMCs) and M1 and M2 macrophages isolated by laser microdissection from human AAA biopsy samples. The aim of this study was to profile (with microarray technology) miRNAs in M1 and M2 macrophages and Smooth muscle cells (SMCs), isolated by laser capture microdissection (LCM). SMCs isolated from control non-aneurysmal aortas were the control group according to which data were normalized. Areas enriched in M1 macrophages, M2 macrophages and smooth muscle cells were microdissected (9.8 [4.7-16.2] mm2) from two different biopsy samples of human abdominal aortic aneurysm. An area enriched in smooth muscle cells was microdissected from two biopsy samples of non aneurysmal abdominal aortas. Each microdissected samples were analyzed independently on microarray.

Sleep Deprivation and Recovery Sleep for 7 Regions of Mouse Brain.

Project description:Analysis of the effects of sleep deprivation, recovery sleep, and three time-of-day controls on seven brain regions laser microdissected from mouse brain. The regions include the locus coeruleus, suprachiasmatic nucleus, hypocretin area, tuberomammillary nucleus, orbital cortex, posteromedial cortical amygdala, and entorhinal cortex. In this study, 7 brain regions were collected by laser microdissection from brain tissue of mice from 5 different treatment groups and used for microarray experiments. Four biological replicates were generated for each regionxcondition. Conditions are: SD, sleep deprivation for 6 hours from ZT0 - 6; SDC, time-of-day control for SD at ZT6; RS, recovery sleep for 4 hours following SD; RSC, time-of-day control for RS at ZT10; W, spontaneous waking at ZT18.
