CircZNF827 nucleates a transcription inhibitory complex to balance neuronal differentiation
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Here, we have mapped high-confidence circRNA inventories of mouse embryonic stem cells, neuronal progenitor cells and in differentiated glutamatergic neurons and identify hundreds of differentially expressed circRNAs. By screening a panel of candidate circRNAs for a potential function in neuronal differentiation, we found that knockdown of circZNF827 significantly induces expression of key neuronal markers while slowing cell proliferation, suggesting that this molecule normally negatively regulates neuronal differentiation.
