Creatine utilization as a sole nitrogen source in Pseudomonas putida KT2440 is transcriptionally regulated by CahR
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: creatine regulon is small and electrophoretic mobility shift demonstrates specific CahR binding only at the creA promoter suggesting much of the regulon is due to induction by downstream products. This study identifies ligand specificity and provides biological function to a previously uncharacterized GATR, contributing to our understanding of bacterial organic nitrogen compound metabolism.
