Sexual dimorphism in cancer: insights from transcriptional signatures in kidney tissues and renal cell carcinoma

ABSTRACT: We have characterized genome-wide expression and regulatory networks of 609 renal tumors and 256 non-tumor renal tissues using the Illumina HumanHT-12 v4 Expression BeadChips. Data show remarkable sexual dimorphism at transcriptional level including sex-specific signatures associated with RCC progression and survival.
